Astrid and Ruffnut sit on Hiccup's room, hearing the yells from Tom but silence from Hiccup. That worries Astrid. How can he be so quiet when getting abused?

Well, he has lived with this since he was 8.

Astrid paces his room.

"Astrid calm down. Hiccup is strong. And when Tom leaves, we will go help Hiccup." Astrid nods but paces. The tone in her voice sounds more like she is trying to convince herself more then Astrid.

"We should find stuff to heal the wounds while... that is happening. Man I wish I can stop that." Her voice cracks when she spoke. Ruffnut nods and they start looking around his room. After a few minutes they here a pained yell from downstairs. Astrid gasp and covers her mouth with er hand, trying to stop a sob. Ruffnut rushes over and hugs Astrid, trying to calm her down.

"This can't be happening. This can't be happening." She mutters to herself.

"Come one Astrid. Lets try and find something to help Hiccup." Astrid nods. She knows it is rude to look around someone's room, but that doesn't matter to Astrid at the moment. Her main priority is Hiccup. She blushes at that but continues looking.

"He has to have something in here!" Ruffnut whispers angrily, trying not to be heard. They hear another cry of pain. "Shut up!" Yells Tom. Astrid winces but continues searching. She opens a drawer and finds a journal. She looks over at Ruffnut and sees her rummaging through his bathroom. She opens a drawer and gasps.

"Astrid. Get over here. It just got worse." Astrid quickly puts the journal away and closes the drawer and rushes over to Ruffnut. Inside the drawer is a knife and a dark red cloth.

"He didn't... He can't... Ruffnut!" Astrid whisper/yells at her.

"I never knew how bad it was. But guesses but the color and hardness of the cloth, it hasn't been used for awhile." She releases a sigh. She walks back to the drawer, gets the journal, and opens it. She finds drawings.

They are really good. She turns the page and sees a little boy around four, a man that looks like he is in his mid-thirties, and a woman around the same age. She realizes it is Hiccup, his mom, and his dad. The younger Hiccup looks happy.

"I found it!" Astrid jumps, dropping the journal. She puts it back and walks back to Ruffnut, pulling out gaze, a rag, and cream. It must be ointment.

"Oh thank the gods." Astrid whispers They bring the stuff on the bed and wait.

They don't hear anything from downstairs.

They wait...

And wait...

Until they hear a door slam shut. Astrid and Ruffnut look at each other. They grab the supplies and quietly open the door. The tip toe to the stairs, in case Tom is still there.

The quietly walk down the stairs. They hear whimpering. They walk to the sound and find Hiccup laid out on his stomach, with a pained look on his face. He already has a bruise on his face below his eye and his lip is cut.

"Hiccup." Astrid whispers and runs over. Ruffnut follows.

Hiccup lift his eyes up to her face. His face shows a look that Astrid nor Ruffnut can tell what it means. They kneel down next to him.

"Is he gone?" Ruffnut asks. Hiccup nods. He closes his eyes tightly and whimpers again.

"Can you stand?" Hiccup opens his eyes and looks at them. He doesn't answer but tries to get up.  Emphasis on tries. He falls back down and tries to hold back a cry.

"Hiccup are you okay?" Stupid question.

"Yes fabulous. I feel fantastic." Hiccup tries to laugh but it sounds strained.

"Shut up."

"Ask a stupid question, you get a stupid answer." He says with a small smile. Ruffnut had gotten the rag wet and went to clean up a wound on his arm.

"Don't worry about my arm at the moment. Take care of my back first." Hiccup says. Ruffnut stops and looks at Astrid.

That can't be good.
