Sophie Foster was a strange girl. She was adopted, she had five abilities, brown eyes, but even so, everyone in the little town of Gloria loved her. Her adoptive mother, Edaline, owned a bakery, and that's where Sophie made many friends.

During the day, the sixteen-year-old girl would work at the bakery with her mother, then afterwards, help her adoptive father, Grady, with the vet clinic that he owned. Sophie was very busy, but always had time to be thoughtful towards everyone.

One day, while there were barely any customers in the bakery, the Prince of Everglen, Fitz Vacker, walked in. Sophie was so surprised that she accidentally dropped the tray of muffins that she was putting on display. Why, of all the bakeries in Gloria, would the Prince decide to come here? And especially when there were barely any customers?

"Oh! I'm so sorry.... I'm such a clutz," Sophie muttered , hurrying down to pick up the fallen muffins.

"No, no, it's alright. Here, let me help you clean this up," Prince Fitz said, but Sophie stopped him.

"Your Majesty, you don't have to do that, sir. Really, you don't. It's my fault, you see."

Even though Sophie fought against it, Fitz bent down beside her and helped pick up the muffins.

When they finished, Fitz stood up and grinned at the young girl.

"See? This did not take long. The power of teamwork!" He said teasingly.
Sophie laughed, tucking her hair behind her ear.

"You really are funny, sir." A smirk flashed across her face.

"Please, call me Fitz. These... Proper names are too much to handle."

Sophie laughed again, but then returned behind the desk where the treats were displayed.

"You obviously didn't come here to tease me or to pick up muffins, Your M-"

"Fitz. My name is Fitz," The Prince corrected. She sighed.

"Fine, Fitz. You didn't come here to do that. So what is your purpose?" She asked.

"Well, the princess Biana's birthday is soon, and I'd like to get a cake for her."

Sophie smiled, but she felt slightly confused.

"Can't you just...Ask the Royal cooks to bake one? I mean, this bakery here is nothing but local."

Fitz looked like he was thinking over his answer, but then said it with confidence.

"I find that local cake is better than any kind of cake. And, anyway, it is good to switch things up once in a while, is it not? So, when I came into the town, I asked a few villagers where the best bakery would be. They told me that if I was looking for the best, I should come here. And I believe that I have found it," He said with a smile.

The brown eyed girl smiled back as her heart fluttered slightly. "Well, you came at the perfect time. For some reason, we seem to have no customers! Your order shouldn't take too long, depending on what it is."

Fitz grinned and walked up to the desk, and they planned the cake for the next half-hour. He kept telling jokes, making Sophie burst out in laughter. They couldn't stop talking.

"I apologize, but do you happen to know the time? I'm afraid that I have forgotten my watch at home," Fitz asked, his eyes sparkling.

"It is...." Sophie looked at the clock at the other side of the room. "Three o'clock."

Fitz's eyes widened, eyebrows shooting up, and he quickly straightened his posture.

"I must go! I have been here too long! But before I go, what time should I come to get the cake?"

"Well, if it's easier for you, you could come tomorrow at noon. Is that alright?"

"It is! Thank you! See you tomorrow!" And the Prince was out the door.
