Sophie walked slowly into the tent, her pulse quickening with every passing second. Her brown eyes scanned the large space, everything yellowed from the sunlight passing through the canvas. She scanned every face, looking for his; but then her heart dropped.

"Fitz?" She muttered, eyes tearing up. He was laying down on a cot in a far corner, surrounded by a few medics, looking the polar opposite of what Sophie had hoped for. Terrified, she ran over to him, her heart aching as she took in all of his injuries. Scratches everywhere she looked, some much deeper than others, a dislocated shoulder (it was so bad that even she could realise it was dislocated). His face was ghostly white, eyes closed, and exhausted.

"Fitz, I'm here! I'm here, it's going to be okay..." She told the unmoving figure that lay beside her.

"May I ask who you are?" One of the medics asked, raising an eyebrow at her. Sophie took a deep breath, trying her best not to cry.

"I'm Sophie. Sophie Ruewen." She told the medic. He nodded, but then looked sheepish.

"I apologise, but we are going to have to ask you to leave. The patient needs immediate care-"

"I won't get in the way!" Sophie butted in hastily. "I promise! I really cannot leave his side again!"

He sighed, but then grabbed hold of her shoulders, turned her around, and shoved her towards the door. Because of the scrapes on her shoulders from the Never seen, his touch burned.

"Let go of me!" She shrieked, when she was suddenly enveloped in a flash back.

"Get up, you filthy girl," A voice snarled in the dark room. They grabbed her shoulders roughly, and threw her to her feet. Bex and Rex cried in a corner of the cell, absolutely terrified. Sophie wanted to soothe them, but she couldn't in front of the Neverseen; the consequence was ten more minutes of torture.

They pulled her out of the cell, and down the usual path to the room. It was long and held so much tension, especially for Sophie, who knew exactly how it ended up every time she went.

The Neverseen member pushed Sophie into the room, and Gethen, already there, grabbed her and flung her harshly into the chair. He quickly strapped her, so that she couldn't escape. And the pain began.

"Miss Ruewen? Are you alright? Miss Ruewen..."

Sophie blinked back to life, and heaved deep breaths. Would these memories haunt her for the rest of her life? What if they did? Damn photographic memory. And what about Bex and Rex? They were so young, but their childhood memories could be clouded by those nightmares...

"Miss Ruewen, please, answer me." The medic's voice had authority and was slightly impatient. Sophie took a few more deep breaths to calm herself.

"I-I'm sorry. Just had a... Memory."

The medic sighed, and turned her towards him. "I know very well what you went through. But, I have to ask you to leave! Now!" He grabbed her arm, and pulled her towards the door. Sophie struggled against his iron grip, tears threatening to spill. She was still too weak to fight him, so that was all that she could do.

"Leave her alone." A weak voice said from behind them. Both Sophie and the medic turned towards the sound, and saw Fitz trying to sit up, tired, but looking angry. Sophie's face broke into a smile and she tried to run towards him; but of course! That stupid medic was still holding on to her wrist.

"I will not ask you again," Fitz said. "Let. Go. Of. Her."

The medic did as he was told, and as soon as he let go, Sophie ran towards the prince. "You're okay! Oh my Gnome, I'm so sorry. It's all my fault! Oh my, look at your shoulder! I guess that's my fault as well! I'm sorr-"

"Sophie," He chuckled tiredly, placing his good hand on her cheek. "I would do that all over again to save you."

She let out a quiet "aww", but then went right back to her state of worrying. "You got hurt, though. And if it weren't for me..."

"I wouldn't have the prettiest girl in Evertalia right here beside me. I did that so that you could escape. And I'm here now! See?"

Sophie let out a small laugh, and nodded. "I love-"

"SOPHIE RUEWEN!" A voice shrieked from the door. Elwin stood there, a hand on his hip, the other wagging a finger at Sophie. He looked absolutely furious. "I TOLD YOU NOT TO LEAVE THE CARRIAGE, AND LOOK WHERE YOU ARE NOW!"

Fitz let out a sarcastic gasp. "Did you disobey Elwin? Well, I should have warned you earlier; he's terrifying when he's mad."

"I can see that," Sophie muttered.

"AND I CAN HEAR YOU! GET OVER HERE RIGHT NOW!"

So Sophie walked towards Elwin, after pecking Fitz on the cheek. "Get better, Fitz."
