The evening had finally rolled around, where the Southern elves would gather around after dinner in the dining area and have their drinks while they laughed and chatted before their curfew.

Usually, amongst our group of main characters, it would simply be the Southern elves. However, this time they were joined by Penelope and Athena who didn't mind a drink themselves. With these drinks that loosened them up, Carbon couldn't help but notice that Penelope had an arm around Lolita, and they seemed to be getting rather close which was strange since neither of them were partners. But she had a feeling that Penelope eyeing the cybergoth Southern elf across the table every meal in a suggestive manner might've meant something, and that perhaps something was growing between the two of them. She didn't stop it from happening however, she didn't mind one bit, they were actually quite cute with their interactions.

It made her wish that she and Roulette still shared those same interactions. She was an escape for when Dagger left her, Roulette made all the pain go away, she made Carbon feel satisfied mentally and sexually when she thought nothing would make it better. But she knew it meant nothing to her, and nothing romantic would ever come of it like she wished. That's just what Roulette did, she loved sex in any form and was non-committal, and it wasn't Carbon's place to hold her back from what she loved and her lack of interest in committing to a single person. This was a secret Carbon and Roulette would most likely take to the grave, and until then they'd act like nothing happened.

"Cece?"

Carbon was snapped out of her thoughts at the sound of Roulette's voice, a sweet sound that would turn bitter at her thoughts as she hummed questioningly at the woman.

"You've been staring at me for the last five minutes. Is something wrong?" She asked, Carbon's face flushing pink as she hadn't realised she'd been staring for so long.
"No, no, I'm all good. Just having the old alone time with my thoughts, I'm sorry for staring," she apologised, Roulette shaking her head as she smiled.
"You're alright, there's nothing to worry about," she reassured her, climbing under the table and squeezing between Carbon and Kafka on the chair across from her original place as she wrapped an arm around her shoulder and let Carbon rest her head on her own shoulder, squeezing her a little, "you look really tired, you best get a good night's sleep tonight."
"Yeah...I'll go to bed after this drink..." Carbon sighed, taking in Roulette's scent, the intoxicating scent of poison.

Carbon would've given anything to fall asleep in that woman's arms again. She'd remember always doing so after a long night together, the two naked as she drifted off to sleep with her head between Roulette's breasts, their legs intertwined, just absorbing each other's warmth and recycling it through each other's bodies.

But she knew she couldn't have that right now. She knew she could never have that again. Maybe she'd come to terms with that some day. But for now, she'd feel the pain eating away at her everyday until she does get over it.

"Hey Carbon."

Now that voice wasn't so sweet. Everyone looked up at the sound of that sickening voice, disgust over their faces as they came to find that it was Dagger with his new sidekick, Avery.

"What do you want?" Carbon asked bitterly as she sat up properly, the boy putting his hands up defensively as he raised his brows.
"Woah, I only came to apologise for this morning. I believe it was just one big misunderstanding," he explained, to which Carbon scoffed and looked away from him, following was the unbelieving laughter of her friends.
"You've gotta be fucking kidding me," she said as she looked back up at him, "why the fuck should I believe anything you say?"
"People make mistakes Carbon, and it's important we learn from them," he said rather innocently, to which Carbon made a over exaggerated face of realisation as she placed a hand on her head.
"Oh, yeah! Just like that big mistake I made to ever date you!" She laughed, to which Dagger turned bitter and Carbon became serious again, "get the fuck out of here Dagger. You make me sick."
