We walk up to the party and no sign of Peter, but there's people everywhere so it's kind of hard to tell. I fix my fake lash a little bit and keep walking up to the frat house. Felicia is a little further back on the phone with someone. I'm trying to listen in but it's been so hard to lock onto whatever it is she's talking about. It's like she's speaking in code. "I can figure it out tonight," she says. "Of course," she adds after a second. She's been talking so fast and vague I can't rack my brain enough to find the voice on the other end. She hangs up and runs up to me as we are closer to the front door. "Sorry bout that."

"Who was that?" I ask.

"My mom," she says casually. "Not important, I've lost my buzz let's find Peter after we get some shots."

"Maybe he's inside," I suggest. She nods grabbing my hand and leading me around the house. I can feel my space buns tighten at all the noise. I wince with my eyebrows trying to get used to it. The only thing keeping me focused is Felicia's hand in mine. Her skin is soft so it helps me focus on what's in front of me. I feel my body getting used to my surroundings as Felicia let's go of my hand. I finally look up and see she's talking to Sarah and Freddie who are dressed as Scooby Doo and A football player, I think. Really Sarah is just wearing an oversized jersey with no pants. They are pouring shots for everyone around them. Felicia hands me one and I take it. I look around and spot Peter walking in through the main room. He's not dressed up, but will blend in anyway since he looks like a toned down frat boy. His hair is swooped to one side, he's wearing dark jeans and a nice blue tshirt with black converse. Can't forget the black bomber type jacket or of course the backpack he always carries. He takes his jacket off and hangs it up on a chair some girls are sitting in. They try to talk to him, he smiles politely and says something. I haven't fully got myself under control and can't make out what he's saying. They nod and shrug. One of them grabs the jacket and hands it off to a guy near her and he tosses it in one of the bedrooms.

"Thank you," Peter says cooley. It's the first real words I've made out since I've got here. I'm pretty sure people have tried talking to me but it's been overshadowed by loud music with no lyrics, just a beat. I walk towards him as he looks up to make eye contact. He smiles at me as I shove my way through past a group of girls. "Hi," he says lightly.

"Hi," I reply back just as inaudible. He kind of looks around.

"Where's Felicia? She said she'd be here," he asks loudly. I kind of snap myself out of staring at him and turn and point towards the area by the dance floor the group has made theirs.

"Come on, I'm sure she'll be excited to see you," I say simply. I start walking but I notice a group of guys are kind of sweeping him away. I grab his hand and wince a little at the pain that goes through my body. I get it under control leading him to our group. I tap Felicia on the shoulder dropping Peter's hand as she turns around.

"Peter!" She says loudly. She goes in to hug him which clearly makes him uncomfortable but it's quick. "I'm so glad you actually came. Stella could not stop talking about how excited she was to see you," she says. I widen my eyes as that is not true. What is she doing?

"Really?" Peter questions look over at me. I shake my head as Felicia rolls her eyes.

"Don't listen to her she's excited you're here. I'll get you two a drink," Felicia says moving past us pushing me closer to Peter. I very deliberately move further away from him as I watch my other friends dance and I try to focus on their conversation, but for some reason my brain is hyper aware of Peter.

"I actually can't stay long," he says leaning over to make sure I hear. I turn and look up at him.

"What?" I ask pretending I didn't hear him.

"I can't stay long I have a thing," he says louder.

"Oh," I say sounding a little sad. "Felicia will be disappointed by that."

"Well I'm honestly surprised she's here," he says. I furrow my eyebrows.

"Mrs. Stark, Sorry, Pepper is having a big benefit with Morgan at the Art Museum, seems like something Fisk would want Black Cat to wreak," Peter explains.

"You have a benefit? Like a fancy thing?" I almost laugh at the idea of Peter at something like that. Especially since I see him at a frat party.

"I don't super have a choice. Pepper and Morgan are kind of like family at this point. I'm like required to go," he explains. I nod. "I did want to stay longer," he adds.

"No it's okay. I don't even really wanna be here. It was Felicia's idea."

"Okay two drinks," Felicia says coming up from behind us. I take the drink from her, but Peter declines.

"I'm not drinking tonight. I have another thing. I just didn't want to disappoint you," he says playfully to her.

"What? You gotta be kidding you promised a dance?"

"Well actually that's why I came. We can do our dance but then I gotta get going. My aunt is already mad at me that I'm late," he says.

"What thing?" Felicia asks.

"Just a benefit a family member is having. Kind of big kind of not. I'm required to go," he explains. She pouts a bit.

"Well that sucks we were hoping you'd stick around," she says glancing at me.

"Sorry," he says lightly. "We can still dance?" She shakes her head.

"Nah you go to your thing. Maybe Stella can tell you where she'll be tomorrow and you two can get together." I close my eyes in embarrassment. She needs to chill with matchmaker.

"Or she could just come with me," he says smoothly. I open my eyes and take a large drink of my red cup.

"Actually I-

"She'd love to!" Felicia says cutting me off.

"This sounds like a fancy thing I don't have a dress," I say quickly.

"I do! Borrow the dress in my closet, quick you two go," Felicia says. I furrow my eyebrows and look back at Peter.

"You don't have to. I just think it'd suck less with someone else there to talk to," he explains. I smile a bit and nod slowly. His smile grows as Felicia pushes me towards him as he starts walking to the door.
