I quickly ran down the stairs with the towel still firmly wrapped around my wrist.

"Jungkook.." I tried to yell but it came out as a broken whisper. I pushed my way into the crowd in search of him but he wasn't there.

"Jungkook!" I said a bit louder this time.

I felt someone tug on my arm and I turned around to see Hyejin looking at me, her eyes filled with worry.

"Where were you? What happened?"

I honestly wasn't willing to answer her questions but just as I was about to reply, my vision started narrowing. Soon I could see two of everything and before I even realized, I collapsed.

I was in a ancient looking room. There was a huge window to my right, covered in mustard colored, dusty curtains. It blocked my view from outside but it didn't bother for me to slide them open. It was a well lit room with several bulbs hanging from the top and a lamp as an addition to them. A neatly made king sized bed was placed in the center of the room and antique furniture pieces were present in different parts of the room. A few paintings and random pictures were hung on the beige coloured walls and a plant was placed in the corner. The door was present in the opposite corner which opened a few moments later. In entered a women probably in her late 40s, with her hands behind her back and a sweet smile plastered on her face. Her hair was twisted up in a messy bun and she had worn a brown dress with high collars and long sleeves. She also had a few golden chains around her neck and a few rings. She had rectangular glasses resting on the bridge of her nose.

"How are you feeling, honey?" she asked softly. Not knowing what she was talking about, I simply nodded. She went near the bed and sat on the very edge. She patted the place next to her, gesturing me to sit over there. I slowly sat there, my hands over my lap and waited for her to continue.

She gently took my left hand in her and traced the tattoo with her warm fingertips. The redness had gone and it was much more prominent. Another peculiar thing was that my skin was greyish colored for some reason. But I didn't think much of it, assuming it must be the shadow or something.

"Do you know why you have this?" She asked and I harshly shook my head because obviously, I wouldn't know why and how this tattoo automatically appeared on my wrist.

She chuckled in response and said, "Oh dear, this is the tattoo of the devil. I wonder why he didn't tell you yet..." She mumbled the last part but it didn't go unnoticed by me.

"Who was supposed to tell me this? And what? Tattoo of the devil?" I asked, frowning in confusion. Well Jungkook had it too and he's also a devil so it kinda made sense...

Instead of answering my questions, she stood up and took out a mirror from behind her. She put it in front of me, allowing me to see my face in it.

I looked at myself and my jaw literally dropped. My eyeballs were crimson red and my skin was ash colored. Veins were popping out of my neck on my and I looked...fierce.

I looked at her in fear and she just smiled.

"Don't be scared of yourself, Areum." She said as I gave her a 'what-the-f*ck' look.

Suddenly, one of the frames on the wall caught my eye and it was a strangely familiar painting of a man. I squinted my eyes and scrutinized it and that's when I realized that the man was....

Taehyung...

I looked back at the woman and her facial expression held anger this time.

"Stay away from him." She said.

The sun rays entered my room and hit my face making me close my eyes tighter than ever. Someone tapped on my leg making me flinch and get out of bed. I met the eyes of my concerned mother as she put her hand over my forehead, probably checking my temperature. I realized that I was in my bedroom and it was the day after my birthday, the calendar said so. I looked at the clock and it was almost time for school.

"Oh my god, Areum! How are you feeling? You fainted last night! Did you eat something weird? What happened!! You don't have fever, but do you still feel dizzy? If so, please sleep again. Don't go to school today!" My mom rapped.

"Mom, I'm fine," I groaned and stretched my arms, releasing all the tension in my body and muscles.

"Thank God! Stay back home, don't go to school today, okay? Who knows, you might faint again!" She suggested.

I was about to nod, because why deny when you're mom is asking you to stay home from boring school. But then it clicked, I needed to have a conversation with Jungkook regarding this nightmare and of course, the tattoo. I need to go!

"Um mom, I actually need to go to school. I..uh..we have t-this important p-project to do.." I tried to come up with a lie. Luckily, she didn't ask many questions and said I could go. But only after I take the pills she was gonna give me.

Jungkook wasn't at the gate. I checked his classroom, he wasn't there either. Neither did he join us for lunch. Where was he?
