A few more days had passed and I could see Taehyung and Soo-ah hanging out with each other almost everyday. Of course I did try to separate them, but apparently their teacher told Taehyung to be with her until she knows her ways around the school properly. I suppressed all the anger in me because I didn't want Taehyung and I's relationship, whatever it was, to be ruined by this new girl who looked like an absolute oompa loompa.
I wouldn't lie saying that I didn't feel jealous. But the feeling was much worse. Anger mixed with jealousy. It felt as if it was no longer me. It was a completely different person. I started distancing myself from Hyejin but she kept sticking to me like the great friend she was. Another thing, she'd started hanging out with Jimin. One, because of the dance club stuffs and two, because they started getting along with each other well. And Jungkook...had disappeared it seemed.
It was lunch time and Hyejin and I had gotten ourselves some kimbaps. We both were eating quietly when suddenly someone called Hyejin's name making her look behind.
"Bro, Jimin wants me to join him for lunch." She said.
"Okay and...?"
"So should I say no or what?"
"No, you can go.." Well I didn't mind eating alone. Plus I ship them, so I might as well let her go.
"Really?"
"Yeah,"
"Okay! I'll see you in class!" Saying that, she left.
I breathed out heavily and proceeded to take a bite out of my kimbap. That was when two chairs in front of me were dragged back. I looked up to see Taehyung looking at me with his signature boxy smile. A small smile formed on my lips as well but then my eyes travelled to the person next to him and well, it was Soo-ah. My smile instantly dropped. Anyways, I nodded a bit, allowing them to sit with me.
Not knowing how to start the conversation, I asked,
"What made you guys sit with me today?" I didn't want it to sound mean so I smiled and wiggled my eyebrows.
"Nothing much, I just missed you" Taehyung said, his face showing absolutely no emotions. My eyes widened and my cheeks probably became red due to how hard I was blushing. The frown on Soo-ah's face didn't go unnoticed by me but I had no interest in beating the shit out of her this time. Her face was such a mood ruiner, gawd.
I gave Taehyung a nod as a response and took a rather big bite from my kimbap to hide the blush which was still lingering on my face. After a while, Taehyung suddenly took out his hand and brushed his thumb over my lips. I was processing what just happened for a second and then realised he just removed the remnants of the kimbap which were probably stuck to my lips. Aish this was so embarassing!
Soo-ah got up from her seat abruptly, her chair making a screeching sound, gaining our attention quickly.
"I need to go to the washroom. Let's go Taehyung.." She said as she grabbed his arm, making him stand up. I looked at Taehyung, who had an apologetic expression. But before I could even say anything, she started dragging him out of the cafeteria.
"What a b*tch.." I scoffed to myself and continued eating.
_________________________I kicked the few pebbles that came in my path as I was heading home. Hyejin was beside me, frowning, as if in a deep thought.
"Why are you frowning? Did something happen today?" I asked.
"Areum what do you think of Jimin? Do you think he's a nice guy?"
"I mean sure, why?"
"I think he likes me!" She said and tucked a few strands of her hair behind her ear.
"Ooooh, someone is getting a little shy, am I right?" I teased making her smile and hit my arm.
"What made you think that?" I asked.
"I don't know. You know, he's been acting so sweet. Plus he stutters a lot while talking to me these days. Aren't these the signs?" She asked.
"Yeah, but doesn't he like, flirt with all the girls?"
"Exactly. I think that's the part that's upsetting me. Jimin flirts with everyone and he owns it." She said as the smile on her face dropped.
"As for him asking someone out, that never even seemed possible, until now, I guess. I mean, why does he hang out with me so much? Why does he always smile when I'm with him? Why did he ask me to join him for lunch today? Why did he gift me chocolate? Is this supposed to be some sort of joke, just another scheme I'm supposed to play along with? Or is he really serious?" She said, as she took out a large bar of chocolate from her bag.
"Broooo.. stop, he does like you!" I said, my eyes widened as I stared at her face which had a shy expression on.
"But what about you tho?" I asked her, emphasizing on the word you.
"I mean...I think I like him too!" She squealed making me smile widely as I slung an arm around her shoulder.
"This took a different turn, well, y'all were like rivals at first. Hmph cliche, anyways soo..." I said, making her pout as I burst out laughing.
"But I approve!" I said proudly.
"I don't need your approval." She said cheekily which made her earn a forehead flick from me.
_________________________As I was laying in my bed, thoughts about Jungkook gathered in my head.
Where has he been all these days? I definitely need to talk to him about what all has happened a few days ago. I need to know the answers to all my questions. Should I go to his place since it's the weekend tomorrow anyways?
Will it be awkward if I meet him? I mean what should I ask him first? What would I even say? I suppose I can't just go and say, "Hey, while you were AWOL, a tattoo just decided to creep up on my wrist and freak me out, care to comment on that?" No no I absolutely can't say that. Whatever, I'll just plan everything out subsequently. I bet he already has an idea that this was about to happen.
I finally decided to go to his place the next day and soon drifted off to sleep.
