"Taehyung?!"

He forcefully let his mask down for me to see his face. Of course, it wasn't the same happy boxy-smile I was about to witness but a face painted in pure anger and annoyance. His expression was enough for me to gulp down the lump which was stuck in my throat since the beginning.

He came even closer making me suck in a breath in surprise, as he trapped me in the cage of his muscly arms. Right after that, I let out an inaudible yelp as he shortened the distance between his lips and my earlobe,

"What brings you here, Areum? Going in a dark and lonely forest without telling anyone, huh? Let's say, without telling me?" He purred gently making my brain flood with various thoughts . My body heated up instantly and I let out a cough.

Pushing him back gently, I heaved out a breath. I caught a glimpse of his face only to notice that he was examining each and every action of mine. Beads of cold sweat trickled down my temple and I pressed my lips into a thin line. Contemplating whether to utter a word or not I snapped my head upwards.

Finally, I locked my eyes with his and cleared my throat,

"I have something to do Taehyung, it'll be better if you go home now"

I said , almost as if I was reciting a speech in one-go. I don't know where I got the courage to talk back to an angry Taehyung, but let me just say I could feel something unusual while communicating with him. 

His facials hardened, and I knew I messed up pretty awfully this time, but I had no choice but to go away from him. The strange feeling which was piling up within me intensified as I bored my dark eyes more into his oceanic ones.

"You are ordering me to go home? Leaving you all by yourself in these deadly woods? Are you even listening to yourself Areum!" He growled against my ears and clenched his jaws radiating anger. His face was turning red due to all the frustration and layers of irritation because of my behavior.

"Just do what I'm telling you to! Don't interrogate me again, okay? I have some work to do-"

"What in the world you have to do in here? And you are avoiding me over that? This is it! Either I'm joining you, or you are going back with me!" He yelled again and took me by my shoulders.

I motionlessly watched his actions, not even caring what he's doing. I purposefully looked everywhere but his deep brown eyes. I could hear a sigh leaving his mouth in defeat, as I snapped my head in his direction.

His brows were crossed together, eyes holding annoyance and lips shaking which were trying to bubble out words which would made me do what he says.

But today, I was determined to find out about the world I originally belonged to and reveal all the secrets about it. No one's going to stop me, not even Taehyung.

"If you're done with your tries, then let go" I commanded him, pointing at my shoulders which were gripped by his hands.

He glanced at me with hopelessness lingering in his eyes, and finally loosened the hold of my shoulders. He stood there emotionlessly watching me wiping the invisible dirt on my sleeves and rubbed my hands on my thighs.

Giving him a last satisfactory smile, I collided my lips with his baby-soft cheeks, giving him a peck.

Straightaway, I turned back at him as if all his doings did not affect me at least. My face was icy-cold and almost blank. An unknown person would mistakenly think of me as a ghost. My body was turning cold as the wind continued to dance within the silenced woods.

I started walking making my way towards the unnatural lake, until I heard Taehyung talking something under his breath which I unknowingly heard,

"This is not you, right? It's your devilish self powering over you!"
