I cursed under my breath as panic swelled in me. Then I surreptitiously stepped out of my house from the back door as it made less noise.

And the moment I got into the lane, I started sprinting in search of him.

"Jungkook...Jungkook!" I kept whisper yelling his name.

The street was absolutely lonely. No people, cars, nothing. But I didn't lose hope and kept seeking for him.

It was almost morning as the sky was now smeared with a lighter shade. 4 am-ish maybe. And the air was freezing cold, I regretted coming out in only pajamas.

Soon I started walking as I thought about the places he could be at. School? He bunks almost all the time, why would he go there when there's no school. Yeah it was Saturday.

What if he really went home? I don't know where this brat lives. And he would've told me. Aish...

While all these thoughts had occupied my mind , I didn't even realise that I'd reached the playground which was like a mile away from my house. Hyejin and I used to spend a lot of time here in our youth.

A little hope ignited in me and I rushed inside the park. No one near the swings, no one on the slide. I scanned the playground and finally found a familiar figure sitting on a bench near the sand pit. His back facing me. Anyone could recognise him that way, his coconut head gave away. Relief washed over me and sighing heavily, I walked over to him.

I hit the back of his head with my hand and flumped down on the bench next to him.

"You're such a pain in the ass, you know?" I said as I kept panting.

He swerved in his seat and looked at me with wide eyes, recognising my presence.

"What the freaking heck are you doing here?" I asked.

"I-i am, I-"

"How long have you been here? It's literally freezing cold. Do you even realise that you're just in a tee and three fourth pants?"

"Noona-"

"Are you out of your mind? Why didn't you tell me?" I began to pump him for details.

"I go for a walk every dawn. So I decided to go today as well. I didn't inform you because I didn't wanna disturb your sleep. And I was gonna come home soon, but looks like you already noticed my absence." He replied as he lowered his head.

"I don't believe you," I frankly stated.

"I wasn't able to sleep so I thought a stroll in your vicinity would be a great idea."

"I still don't believe you."

"Well, I had a nightmare so I came out to distract myself."

"I still don't f*cking believe you!"

"Jungkook, do you not trust me? If you keep doing suspicious things like this, how can you expect me not to inquire? Look, I understand if you don't want to tell me, but atleast don't lie." I said softly.

But he kept mum and started playing with the hem of his shirt.

Sighing in defeat, I got up from the seat and said,

"You know what, nevermind. Who am I to even ask you. Stay here in the cold until you pee your pants and come back home whenever you want, I don't care. I'm leaving."

But he grabbed my wrist and pulled me, making me fall back on the bench.

"Wait, I'm sorry. It's just that- I- well...I can't tell you right now. It's not that I love keeping everything to myself, I have to. But I promise I'll tell everything once it's the right time. I'm sorry, I really am." he finally gave in and apologised.
