Five years later. . .
Mystacor is in harmony after several years of rebuilding from the ground up.
Several weeks after the battle the bodies were recovered from the rubble one by one. The final death toll came out, over five thousand dead. All the sorcerers guild except the two of you and Norwyn were all struck down by the Horde. While Mystacor wasn't in shambles anymore, the minds of the sorcerers are still in shambles trying to recover from the hard blows of the near destruction of one of the most protected places in Etheria.
After five long years, Catra and Adora mature from small bundles of joy that were dependent on you and Light Spinner to independent girls that became best friends. When you look at them, you wish that you had the same relationship with your older brother.
However, he always put you to the side as you did with your best friend after becoming Light Spinner's top student. Light Spinner was only five years older than you. When she was twenty and you were fifteen, you drifted away from your friends. You wanted to become powerful, and you wanted to protect your friends. So much so that you left them in the dust Now they're dead. The guilt and failure have built up within you for the past five years. However, you've been good at hiding everything. You've learned from Light Spinner's ways of hiding herself. Yours just happen to be less physical.
As Catra and Adora run across the yard filled with fields of flowers that stretch for miles you lookout to make sure Light Spinner comes home. It was sometimes hard to see everything from the porch. Some of the flowers and grains within the field were so tall that Catra and Adora could hide within it like the pure white curtains in the living room. Then you see her.
Light Spinner's olive green dress flows in the wind like the first time you saw her. The woven basket around her right arm is filled with colorful berries and other food to eat. You often went out for supplies, but this time Light Spinner offered to do it. She knew that you needed peace. Even if that meant peace with two five-year-old girls running around the house.
"Mama!" Catra cried out. Catra and Adora sprinted towards her.
Light Spinner lowered onto her knees, and she embraced Catra and Adora into a hug. "Hi, sweeties."
"Mommy, you brought back dolls for me and Catra!" Adora exclaimed.
"How did you know?" Light Spinner asked.
"Well, they're right there mommy," Adora replied.
Light Spinner looked down at the basket. "Oh, wow. I'm really bad at hiding stuff from you little geniuses. Yeah, I did bring some back for you. Make sure you share them, girls."
"Thank you, mama!" Catra exclaimed.
Catra and Adora went into the house with the new dolls with buttons for eyes and pillowcases for the skin.
You follow behind them, and Light Spinner delicately places her hand on your shoulder.
"How have you been honey?" she asked.
You sigh, "I don't know if I'm being honest."
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"I'd rather not."
"How come?"
"I don't want to cry in front of the girls."
Light Spinner grabs your arm and gently leads you into your bedroom. She sits you down on the bed. The delicate white lace paints a picture of nature. It leaves you with a sense of safety and relief.
"Well, the girls aren't in here. Do you want to talk?" Light Spinner asked. She gently strokes your arm.
"Alright. Fine. You're going to make me talk. I'll talk. I know what you'll do if I don't," you responded.
