7 | Battle of Brightmoon

It's been a month since you've last seen Catra and Adora in person. You've kept in touch every week through the beads, but you and Light Spinner wish more than anything that you could see them.

"Are you okay Light?" you asked.

She glanced over at you in shock and put down the photo that she was holding. "Yeah. I have to be"

Your worried eyes shift their glance up at Light Spinner's teary eyes. You always had to look up to her; she was unusually tall for her species. "You don't have to be. It's okay to not be okay sometimes. I'm always here if you want to—"

Without warning the bead in your hand flashed red. The vibrations from the bead penetrate your hand with worry.

"Catra! What's up?" you asked.

"We need your help! Brightmoon is being attacked by the Horde! We've been fighting for hours, but the Horde just keeps sending more soldiers. We're being overrun, if you can, please help us!" Catra yelled.

"We'll be there in a moment sweetie hang in there!" Light Spinner said running to get her magic staff.

Within seconds you draw a patterned circle and Light Spinner steps inside activating the portal. The teal glow surrounds you both as you fall into short oblivion.

When you gain consciousness, you and Light Spinner wake up to the sound of gunfire. Queen Angella swoops over you with a sudden jerk. Catra jumps down to you.

"Help us get them!" she exclaimed.

Light Spinner jumped down from the terrace and into the courtyard. She flicks her staff and destroys one of the Horde carriers. But a scorpion looking girl comes and attacks you. She uses her pincers and gives you a swipe across the face. The scar goes all the way across you left cheek. You're ready for more, but then she leaves. Almost like, she didn't want to attack you anymore.

Light Spinner is destroying shit as usual with her staff and lightning fast spell casting abilities, and you're up on the castle trying to protect the moon stone. You're alongside Angella now as a whole other Horde troop comes and attacks the two of you. You quickly conjure a spell that shields you and Angella from the brutal blasts coming from the new Horde weapons. Angella blasts the Horde troop away with her magic staff.

However, you look up and notice that a lone Horde soldier is near the moonstone, ready for its siege. You start sprinting to the platform. Once you get there you realize you're joined by more Horde soldiers. They immediately start firing their weapons, but you counter with some impressive shots of your own. You took out one of the soldiers and forced their weapon to you. You touched the electrifying weapon and blasted another soldier with it.

Light Spinner using magical platforms, jumps up to join you along with Catra and Adora.

"Adora and I will fight off the Horde soldiers as they come up. Catra and Light can guard the moonstone in case we fall. Come on She-Ra," you said.

"I agree. Let's go!" Light Spinner called back.

You and Adora run to meet the troops of Horde soldiers coming up through the castle. You wound some, but most of them run away cowering in fear. However, you hear a scream. Light Spinner's scream.

You bolt towards her. "There are too many of them!" she exclaimed. There were masses of Horde soldiers and weapons aiming outside of the castle.

Adora and She-Ra jumps down and destroys the main tank. Glimmer, Bow, Catra and the other princesses join in an embrace that wards off the Horde soldiers in waves of rainbow.

Everyone around here is gay, you thought.

I know sweetheart. Including yourself, Light Spinner telepathically thought to you.

You've been working on telepathic communication with her lately. Even though you've known each other for almost twenty years, sometimes it is hard for the two of you to connect. Especially with Catra and Adora in Brightmoon and Kyrion at a full time sorcerers school.

Catra and Adora immediately come back to celebrate the victory of the Battle of Brightmoon with you.

"Yay!!! You guys were amazing! Thank you so much for your help!" Adora exclaimed hugging you both with a tight squeeze.

"Thank you kiddo, but it was the two of you who really were amazing. You've both grown to have amazing fighting skills. I definitely can tell you're growing into amazing young ladies here. I'm so proud of you both," Light Spinner commented.

"We love you too mom," Catra added getting in on the hug. You also jump in as well because you are a sucker for group hugs.

"Is there anything we need to do before we leave my dear?" you inquired to Light Spinner.

"Make sure you deliver a message to the sorcerers guild. Tell them to join the rebellion against the Horde. You two are so powerful in our fight, but having even more powerful sorcerers would be incredible. We're currently gathering more princesses to join the fight, but the history of the princess alliance is rocky to say the least," Catra replied.

"Alright, we will. We love you girls."

"Love you too."

You and Light Spinner conjure up another transportation spell and return back home in a matter of seconds.

"We barely won that battle. How are we supposed to convince the sorcerers guild that with a few extra sorcerers we could win an entire war?" you asked.

"I don't know love, but we'll figure it out as always," Light Spinner replied.

You nodded at Light Spinner's response. However, inside you are internalizing every possible thing that could go wrong in the fight against the Horde. One mistake could prove to be fatal.
