EDEN ABRELL

"Stunning, you need to calm down, okay," Huxley spoke to me softly, running his fingers down my spine.

It's been a week and a bit since Huxley told me he wanted me to meet his parents so here we were standing in front of the door. I clutched my slightly swollen stomach, breathing out. I was now ten weeks pregnant.

I shook my head, muttering, "I'm perfectly calm."

What if they didn't like me?

What if they didn't accept our relationship and wanted Huxley to break up with me?

What if they didn't accept our baby? Our sweet.

"Oh, no. I'm freaking the fuck out." I froze in my spot. I was petrified at the thought of everything that could go wrong. I didn't want this meeting to live up to the worst of my thoughts. And I was afraid that it would.

Huxley stopped in front of me and squeezed my hips gently, pulling me close to him. "You have no reason to, my stunning. They are going to love you and they are going to approve. If they don't, they'll be pretty massive hypocrites. And even if they don't, they'll just have to deal with it because I'm not leaving you." Huxley gazed into my eyes as he tucked a loose strand of hair behind my right ear. "Nothing could ever tear me away from you. Nothing."

And just like that, my worries were eased. The comfort and peace this man brought me were unexplainable. I drew my attention to his fingers running up and down my spine, bringing tingles and sparks with each trail.

I blew out a breath, forcing my anxiousness to leave with it. I nodded, gulping as he took my hand, lacing our fingers together. Huxley guided us in the direction of the front door. When Huxley rang the doorbell my heart began pumping blood like it's never done before.

God, please don't hate me.

"I'm coming! I'm coming!" A voice yelled from inside. The door opened, revealing a middle-aged woman. Her features were striking, causing me to look back at Huxley for a moment. They looked so alike.

"Oh, hello, pumpkin." The older woman beamed.

"Hi, mum." Huxley smiled, a light pink tint appearing on his cheeks as he went up and hugged his mother. I grinned. He was so cute.

The second he left her arms he was by my side and his fingers were once again laced with mine, gifting me with his warmth. The action was so quick that I barely noticed that his hand had even left.

"Mum, this is my girlfriend, Eden Abrell." His arms snaked around my waist, protectively securing our baby bump. I guess he was slightly nervous too, whether he'd admit it or not, it was in his actions.
