Chapter 17 Amber learns the truth

With the smile on her face,I shudder again.He probably liked her for her evil smile.Who knows,that wasn't the concern at the moment.We had to free Amber from the spell she was under,somehow.Her heart was taken over by the dark magic within her.An there is a catch,she was mortal,I was not.I couldn't just shoot her with a arrow and call it good,but,my magic can kill mortals.I think.
"How about a trade for Amber?"I said hoping it would work.Both Ryan's and my Brother's eyes widened.Ryan was worried,but my brother was interested."What would you possibly trade for my new friend?"He asked petting her hand."Myself."I state to him.Now he was really interested.He snapped his fingers and Amber fell to the ground.In her normal teenage clothes.He lifted his finger,she floated torawds us.An Ryan caught her as she fell to the floor,completely still.I thought wildly what was I thinking,How was I going to escape when he is preparing for it.I had to think of something.My brother held out his hand.I look at Ryan.He was shaking his head,I step closer to Ryan give him a hug and a quick peck on the cheek.I start to walk towards my brother.The portal appeared,he was taking me back to his castle for a ritual for my transformation or somthing.I had no choose,I couldn't risk Ambers life."Phoenix duck,Someone said.I did as I was told.On the ground I look forward and dad had my brother in his grip and he jumped into the portal with him."Dad!"I yell.I start to tear up,he risked his life for me."Whats going on?"Amber asked."Ah,Ryan put me down,this isn't a love scene okay,what happened to our house and why is Phoenix...."She paused.Her face went pale.Before she could scream Ryan came behind her and covered her mouth."Let Phoenix explain herself but not right now.She nods and we head for home.
The ride back to my place was a quiet one.I was in the back seat,Amber in the passenger side,and Ryan the driver.Once we get home Crossfire and Safire were on the couch,smiles on their faces.Ryan and I look down.Their smiles disappear.Safire starts to cry and Crossfire tries to comfort her."Okay somebody needs to tell me what is going on."Amber states.I look at her and take a heavy sigh and begin my light story from beginning to know."After Prom,we got a call from my brother saying that you and your mom was in his hands so,we went to save you.When we got there he changed you into a dark evil version of yourself.Your mortal,and I am not so I was willing to trade my life for yours.Just before the trade was complete."I choked out the words."My dad took my place and he probably was killed in the process."I state tearing up.Amber looked at her brother.He nodded saying Its true."I can't believe you did that for me after all I did to you."She said placing her hand on my shoulder.Safire was still crying,Crossfire handed her over to me."Safire its going to be okay,I will save him if it kills me."I state to her."But for right know,you get to spend time with Amber.She nods a little happier.I storm upstairs.An Ryan follows.I enter my room with a mission and that mission is to kill the dark magic before anyone else gets taken from this world."Phoenix your okay,right?"Ryan asks at my doorway.I nod."You and Amber can't go back to your place,not for anything."I reply to him.He nods.I pack up a bag full of paper and pencils and I turn to leave.Ryan stops me in my tracks.He grabs my hips with his hands.He gently pulls me into a embrace.He gives me a quick hug and whispers in my ear."Come back with answers."He says.I nod and head out the door.
