Part 25 - Arrival of the others

In the morning at 06:36, the radio kept cracking. Zhan picked up the radio and asked, "Hello?" Zhan had already been awake and by then had checked the operating room again and tested the medical equipment.

"Zhan, I wanted to let you know that we can now see the wall. Please open the gate beforehand. We'll be right there." Replied Zhan's father.

Zhan excitedly woke Yibo, who was still up until nighttime, to check the security systems and change the batteries on all the doors with code entry devices, as well set a new code. "What, what's wrong?" Yibo asked, completely overtired.

"They can see the wall, they're almost here now." Whispered Zhan almost.

"Oh, okay. I'll get up." Yibo rose from the bed with difficulty and quickly dressed while Zhan made the bed. However, before the two then went downstairs together to open the gate, Yibo clung to Zhan and said, "I'll tell them, I promise."

"Mhm, it's okay, take your time." Replied Zhan, still wondering if it could really be Lee that Yibo's parents had mentioned as the person who survived and what he will be happy about.

"Zhan, if it really is Lee, I'll tell her today. I promise you, I won't let anything come between us."

"Yeah, it's okay."

"Is there anything else you can say?"

"Sorry Yibo. My mind is completely elsewhere right now. This is all pretty exciting and I told you yesterday, should it be Lee and you're afraid she's going to tell your parents about us, play along first instead of telling them."

"Forget it Zhan. You're really pissing me off right now. I don't want to pretend that I want to continue to be with Lee and be happy. I explained this to you yesterday long and hard. It's you who I love.And I'm not going to let that, with us, ruin."

Yibo turned Zhan around to face him, gave him a kiss and said, "There is only one solution. To tell her the truth. The two hugged each other tightly, kissed once more, and then walked downstairs together, hand in hand, to open the gate.

When they arrived at the gate and opened it, they could already see the first two buses and also three cars. The hearts of the two immediately beat faster. Because finally they would be able to see their families again.

A military Humvee quickly approached them and Zhan grinned. "What is it?" Yibo asked him.

"That's my dad." Zhan replied. Then, as the Humvee pulled up in front of them and the door almost flew open, an older man in a military uniform jumped out and Zhan fell into his arms. "Ah finally dad. I missed you so much."

Yibo took a closer look at Zhan's father. He estimated him to be about 60 years old. Gray hair. As tall as Zhan and with broad shoulders. His face and eyes showed knowledge, strength but also love. "And you are Yibo, then. I'm glad to finally meet you in person." Said Zhan's father and also hugged Yibo.

"It's a pleasure to meet you too sir." Replied Yibo shyly.

"Sir? We are a family now. You can call me Han."

"A family?"

"I have eyes in my head my boy. I see that my son has hickies on his neck and they certainly didn't happen on his own. Don't worry, I'm not judging. As long as you're happy, it's all good. Just wait, Zhan's mom will love you when she sees you."

"Wow I don't know what to say." Yibo replied.

The next moment, Zhan's mom arrived in the next car. She jumped out of the car, ran to Zhan and hugged him as tight as she could. Then she looked at Zhan's neck, looked at Yibo, looked at Zhan's neck again and cheered, "I knew there was something between you two. My ZhanZhan certainly has turned your head hasn't he? And what a handsome young man you are. Wow, I'm thrilled." She said and fell into Yibo's arms.
