Chapter 42 - My Greatest Wish

With his heart pounding, Yibo stood at the podium in the common area of the hotel. His gaze wandered back and forth between all the people who were there, looking joyfully at him, and the decorations that were absolutely fitting for a wedding.

Zhan's father, who even put on his uniform especially for this important occasion today, smiled. Because at this moment, he couldn't be happier. His son, his pride and joy, is getting married today. And it will be him who will marry his son to the man of his dreams.

Yibo's father, who was also more than happy, nervously tugged at Yibo's elegant black wedding suit. This suit, was sewn especially for this day and it was Yibo's father who sewed it together with two seamstresses. And this only for this day, where his beloved son, will marry his dream man.

In a small room in front of the common room, were the mothers of the two and fixed the elegant white wedding suit of Zhan, which was also sewn by Yibo's father. Tears of joy ran down the cheeks of the two women when they saw Zhan in his wedding suit. They both could not be happier as their sons, marry each other.

When the lights in the common room were turned off, one hundred candles at the edge of the red carpet lit the way from the small room in front of the common room, all the way to the podium, where Yibo was already eagerly waiting for Zhan, and Zhan's father was standing on the podium in his best dress uniform to marry the two together.

At Yibo's side as best man is fireman Hai Kuan, who has since become a good friend to Yibo. On the other side, as Zhan's best man, Zhan's cousin Cheng is waiting.

Soft music sounded over the loudspeakers and the door to the large common room was opened. A choir of children began to sing as Zhan appeared in the doorway with their mothers. Blossoms of artificial flowers slowly trickled down from the ceiling. Little A-Yuan and a girl of the same age, walk in front of Zhan and the two mothers. In their hands they hold small baskets which were filled with flower blossoms and which they dropped on the carpet.

When Yibo saw his Zhan, his breath almost stopped, so beautiful he found his fiancé. Tears of joy ran down his cheeks from his eyes, so happy was he that he could finally marry the man of his dreams. For him, there could be nothing more beautiful.

Zhan, who was so joyfully excited that he kept crying with joy, would have loved to run to Yibo in his arms. But he walked very slowly across the red carpet without once taking his eyes off his wonderful dream man. With his lips he formed the words, "I love you."

Yibo smiled, wiped the tears from his eyes and also formed the words, "I love you."

When Zhan finally reached the end of the aisle, it was their mothers who placed the two's hands on each other, telling them that they trustingly placed them in each other's hands and wishing them all the happiness in the world.

The two thanked their mothers, bowed to them and then to their fathers, and then approached the podium together, hand in hand. The children's choir finished its song. Music then sounded from a piano and a woman sang "Nella Fantasia" by Sarah Brightman. (See video)

When the woman finished her song, Zhan's father began to marry the two. Neither Zhan nor Yibo could hold back their tears. And so did most of those present.

Then after 10 minutes, Zhan's father asked if Yibo wanted to marry his Zhan. His answer was, "Yes I will. I take you as my husband from today and I will experience and share everything with you that is to come. I will be your faithful husband, giving and taking, talking and listening, inspiring and responding - a bond forged in love, strengthened in trust, and renewed again and again."
