Chapter 39 - Visitors, Part 3

After just one day in this magical world, which also seems to be a bit mysterious for Zhan and Yibo, the two feel as if they are in a paradise, full of wonders. Admittedly, even here they lacked some of the things of the modern world, such as electricity. But they thought, this would simply not fit here.

It all looks nicer to them when everything around them is lit with candle lanterns and torches. It is a romantic chandelier, it had Zhan and Yibo particularly attracted. This hangs in the palace of the heavenly emperor and his wife is and is illuminated by magical lights. And sometimes it makes it look as if they are dancing sparkling around the chandelier.

Their second day in the magical world, they spent not only in the heavenly realm, but also at Dragon Mountain, where they witnessed a rare occurrence. They were allowed to watch a young dragon hatch from its egg and even give it a name. "YiZhan" they named the little red and green dragon.

They visited Gusu Island, where they met Lan Zhan's parents, the royal couple of Gusu Island. And they met Hai Kuan and Cheng from this world. Who are a couple just like in their world. Only that here, these two will eventually sit on the throne of Gusu Island and rule this beautiful island.

After their rather short visit to Gusu Island, they flew over many small islands, took a break on Sunflower Island, which is also called the Island of Beauty, because there were only beautiful things there, and then continued to the Island of Mortals. Which received the young princes and their guests, with great joy.

Zhan and Yibo strolled with Lan Zhan and Wei Ying through the mortal market and stopped at a shoemaker. The latter, of course, immediately noticed these strange looking shoes of the two visitors. "What kind of footwear is this? It looks very uncomfortable." He said, pointing at Zhan's shoes.

"Uncomfortable? No, quite the opposite. It's very comfortable to walk in those shoes." Replied Zhan.

The shoemaker, however, would not believe it. The shoes would sit too tightly on the feet, the fabric looked strange, just like the sole. And then those laces, which he wondered what they were for. "If you made the shoes closed, you wouldn't need the laces." Said the shoemaker.

"But they're made that way on purpose. That's on purpose, you see." Asked Zhan.

Lan Zhan and Wei Ying laughed, for they too had experienced similar things when they came here with their shoes from the human world. They too were asked again and again what kind of strange footwear it was and whether it might even be a Dangerous Weapon of the humans. At some point Lan Zhan said, "Of course. I take them off and by the strings I twirl them around until they are fast enough. Then I let them go and they fly away at high speed. And with luck, right into the face of an attacker." People in this world believed him immediately.

Being very concerned about the feet of the visitors from another dimension, the shoemaker made them put on some of his handmade shoes. They fit Zhan and Yibo perfectly. It was as if they were made for the two of them. Wei Ying paid the shoemaker for the shoes and gave him the sneakers that Zhan and Yibo had been wearing and defending until just now.

They could still see the shoemaker curiously examining the sneakers and even trying to put them on himself. Zhan giggled and Yibo couldn't help grinning as well.

They ate and drank here and there and then stopped at an inn where they ordered a hearty dinner. And while they were waiting for it, Zhan asked, "How can it be that there are no unfortunate people or beings in this world?"

Yibo immediately nodded and said, "I noticed that too. Everyone seems to be cheerful and peaceful here. A little boy was standing at a candy stand earlier and the vendor gave him a sugar lollipop just like that. Then at the vegetable vendor, I saw a man giving vegetables to an old woman."
