Everybody at Angelwood High thought that being the captain of the football team meant throwing parties every Saturday night. Which is exactly why today, on my eighteenth birthday, I have finally agreed to do this statement. It's not Saturday but my house is full and everyone is carrying a red cup in their hand filled with drinks my Dad allowed for this one day.

By the way, he's not here. He's in Chicago, away for a meeting but yes, he woke me up from my beauty sleep at exact twelve o'clock to wish me. He is the one who asked me to throw a big party and invite everyone home. I did as I was said, though I didn't expect everyone to come.

Okay, that's a lie.

I knew they would come because I'm irresistible and some guys wanna be like me. Jokes aside, I knew they would come because ever since I became the captain of the football team, everyone have been asking me to throw a party. I didn't even ask why because I hated parties.

It's not like I don't appreciate them coming. I do. I genuinely do but being out of my comfort-zone is not something I liked. I was already doing stuff to just...fit in. This might be the first time these many people have came over to my house ever since I can remember.

I am sitting on the leather couch in my living room with a red cup in my hand filled with sprite, and a girl beside me. Not just any girl, but my girlfriend Emery who is currently snapping selfies of her own.

Don't come at me. I didn't date her because she was in the cheerleading team, I dated her because I genuinely liked her after we spoke for about four months. Yeah, I know long time. But like I said, I wanted to make myself comfortable around her and it kind of takes time. If you're wondering, she got me a bouquet of fresh red roses and a kiss which meant everything to me.

While Emery gave me fresh red roses, her best friend, also my best friend's girlfriend got me a small pot of cactus plant that she bought form One Dollar Store (Yeah, she didn't remove the price tag) with a small note that said, 'Touch them for me' which I unintentionally did.

Since my girlfriend and Beatrice are best friends, I have to hangout with them whether I like it or not. I only go because Marcus, my best friend comes with Beatrice and I talk to him about football while Emery and Beatrice talks about things they watched the other night. Even if it's to take Emery's dog to the vet, I should still tag along. If it were just her and me, I wouldn't complain. But we are four and we always end up eating food from out all the time.

I have to bear Beatrice.

It's not like she and I are besties like Marcus and Emery are. We were friends from freshman year till the beginning of junior year but that ended when it happened. We have a past which almost the whole school knows on her side. Which I sincerely want to forget and am willing to when I move out for collage. Whenever I see her face, it reminds of that stupid Monday. The Monday, dear Beatrice thought to break thing off with me. It's all a misunderstanding on my side but she's not ready to listen.

Anyways, if I think about Beatrice' and my issues, I don't think I will ever stop. I hate her. She hates me. End of story.

"Pout, babe," Em says from beside me as I sipped the sprite. I looked at her phone screen and pouted. "Aww," she squealed and clicked the picture. Giggling, she began editing the photo. It's something she liked to do. Clicking pictures and editing it on the spot. And miraculously, within two minutes the picture will look better than it did before. Her phone rings suddenly and I noticed how she smiles wider. She turned to me and said, "Bea is calling me. I'll be right back," giving me a kiss on the cheek, she stood up to walk away.
