16 Years Ago (Nora was 18)

"Hey, Darlin."

I mumbled incoherently as I rolled over and looked up into his beautiful eyes.

"What are you doing in here?" Jax asked quietly as he sat down on the bed beside me.

"I barely slept last night," I mumbled as I put my head in his lap and relished in the moment as he ran his fingers through my hair, "And your mother worked me to the bone in the office all day today. I figured I'd have a little nap and wait for you to get back."

"Nora," Jax said reluctantly, "You can't keep sneaking into my dorm room. People are going to get the wrong idea about us and you know your brother would castrate me if he got wind of this."

"I can handle Ope," I said quietly as I crawled out from under the covers and straddled Jax's lap, "Jax why do you keep trying to push me away? After that night a couple weeks ago, you can't tell me you didn't feel anything?"

Jax averted his eyes for a moment and rested his hands on my hips, his fingers gripping into my skin. I put my hand under his chin and lifted his head up so I could look into his eyes. I saw so many different things when I looked into his eyes, deep into his soul. He was fighting something and I wanted to know what it was.

"Jax, talk to me, please..."

"Piney, Opie, they are the only family you have," Jax said, his voice almost a whisper.

"You're my family too, Jax," I murmured, "You mean everything to me. You're pushing me away to try and protect me, but you can't control who you need, want...love. I may be young, Jax, but I know what I feel."

His eyes searched mine for a moment before he really, truly looked at me, his resolve quickly falling to pieces all around us.

"Nora..."

I pressed my lips against his softly, tenderly and I could feel all his hesitation drain from his body as he wrapped his arms around my body, holding me close. Wrapping my arms around his neck, I tangled my fingers in his hair as his tongue slipped through his parted lips and caressed my bottom lip gently. A small moan escaped my lips and his tongue dipped into my mouth, no longer hesitant about taking what he wanted and claiming it for his own.

Present

Opening my eyes, I came to the sad realization that that special moment was only a dream, a distant memory from my childhood, the moments I loved the most. I wiped a stray tear that had escaped and reached over to pull Ava into my arms, only to notice that she wasn't there. That's when I heard giggles and talking from the kitchen. I couldn't help the smile that spread across my face. It was Saturday, which could only mean, that despite Maddie's late night, she would never miss out on chocolate chip pancakes and copious amounts of coffee. When I first moved to Santo Padre a couple months ago, her and I became fast friends. She didn't know my about my past with SAMCRO, but I knew I would have to tell her sometime soon.

I crawled out of bed and changed into a pair of yoga pants and decided to leave the SAMCRO hoodie behind. I slipped a tank top over my head and made sure my tattoos were hidden before making my way down the hall into the kitchen. The boys were sitting at the island with juice boxes and giggling at whatever Maddie was saying to them and that's when I noticed him. She had brought Angel with her. I quickly glanced around the kitchen, making sure there was no evidence of my past life around before making my presence known.
