Ch.7 - Your Soulmate Can Tell When You Lie

After the 'Cheer Up!' meal Kaminari had taken Midoriya, Todoroki, and Bakugou on, the ash-blonde had disappeared. The trio was back at Endeavor's agency continuing their training and looking into more leads... but Bakugou had been more absent than usual.

Even when it came to head to bed that night, he was missing from the shared quarters the three of them were usually stuffed into. In fact, even during breaks, he was gone. Off doing who knows what, and with no doubt a wave of burning anger fueling his actions.

Todoroki seemed to not be even slightly worried about the human ticking time bomb as Midoriya was. He went about his day back at the agency, ignoring his father and being as aloof as usual. Midoriya in the meantime was stuck between leaving Bakugou alone... Something that would be good for both his own mental sanity and his ears... or checking up on him... Something that would for sure end in yelling and a possible face covered in soot.

So when Midoriya received a text from an unknown number the evening of their second day back, he knew it could only be from one person. Bakugou refused to give out his number to just about anyone, but for some reason always had everyone else's number. Todoroki had received the same message. Both were being summoned by the ash blonde to the meeting room.

Midoriya and Todoroki made their way down, curious what this might be about if Bakugou was willing to actually message them. He must be in the middle of something to not even seek them out. Perhaps... he was onto something?

They'd know soon, and hopefully, it would allow them to be a step closer to catching the vigilantes.

Todoroki opened the door to the room, but Midoriya was the one to take the first step inside. Midoriya blinked as he came into the small room at Endeavor's agency that he and his two allies had been using. The walls seemed to have been changed overnight, new names, faces, and connections lining the wall.

Bakugou paced back and forth, eyes bloodshot and hands jittery. Around him were several empty, crushed, and burned coffee cans. Had he been up all night doing this? Midoriya knew his childhood friend had found a lead, but this seemed like a little much. Possibly a little obsessive.

Todoroki shut the door, the sound not even alerting the pacing ash blonde. He must have turned his hearing aids off so he wouldn't be disturbed while he worked through his leads and ideas (Plus to not drain the battery of the device). But now seeing as his partners were here and curious what this was all about... both wanted to snap him back into the moment, as well as snap the hearing aids on.

Todoroki reached over, flicking the lights on and off. Bakugou stopped his pacing and looked towards the pair. His mild irritation grew into a larger one as he spied his classmates. Roughly turning on the device attached to his ears, he growled towards them.

"Nice of you two fucks to finally get your asses here to fucking help!" He snarled, and then snapped his fingers.

He scribbled something down fast on a piece of paper and then slammed it onto the board when he was done. Midoriya blinked, looking to Todoroki who looked unfazed. He really was between the emotionless rock of Todoroki and the over emotional hard place known as Bakugou.

Sighing, but knowing he'd need to see what Bakugou had come up with, Midoriya took his seat. He made sure to take a seat on the opposite side of where Bakugou was pacing. Todoroki took a seat next to Midoriya, both looking at Bakugou. He huffed out, slamming a hand onto the board. The noise made a loud echo bounce off the walls, for sure catching the attention of everyone inside.

"I know who one of the damn vigilantes are!" Bakugou smirked, dragging a finger across the board to a picture he had hanging with a red tack.

Midoriya and Todoroki blinked as they looked at the image. The red-haired female's picture was definitely taken from the maid cafe's online page of their employees. In fact... It looked like he threw up every single worker at the maid cafe.
