Ch.14- Soulmates Can't Speak Unless They Meet
Midoriya was nearly shaking as he was more or less corralled towards his fate by his two companions. With Bakugou skulking behind him looking incredibly murderous, Midoriya's inclination not to have his head blown clean off his shoulders overruled his fear of going into the maid cafe alone.
A few days had passed since the boys had been temporarily thrown out of Endeavour's agency and given the fact they'd returned with their things, one look at Aizawa's stern expression told them they had a lot of explaining to do. Thankfully, since the expulsion from their training with the Number One wasn't permanent, Aizawa had let them off under the assumption that Endeavour had already punished them enough. Regardless, he'd given them a light verbal lashing about upholding UA's reputation wherever they went.
While Endeavour had let them off lightly this time, Aizawa had promised that should they mess up like that again then he most certainly would not be in a forgiving mood.
So Bakugou had told them to give it a few days before they went back. If they suddenly started vanishing from the dorms straight after classes at UA, Aizawa or others would get suspicious. With that in mind, Midoriya had been given a few days to mull over his inevitable end. None of them mentioned it, and it seemed none of them needed to.So here they were, walking down towards the maid cafe as Midoriya had been unable to convince Bakugou that there was any other way to go about this. Given how explosive he'd been since they'd returned to UA, Midoriya didn't dare push his childhood friend any further.
"Did you and Kaminari have a fight?" Todoroki suddenly brought up and Midoriya nearly gave a little cry at the blunt question as a terrible sinking feeling came over him.
"The fuck's it to you, Half-and-Half?" And that was that. Or, well, Midoriya had hoped that would be the end of it and they wouldn't pry. The growl and bite to the words would have warned just about anyone else to leave it there.
"It's uncomfortable for everyone else when you're in the same room."
And despite the fact that he was dreading the idea of being left to the mercy of the sweet maid-vigilantes inside, Midoriya was so grateful to see the little door to the cafe that his knees felt weak for a heartbeat. At least if they did kick off out here, he wouldn't be privy to it.
Indeed, Bakugou didn't even deign to snap back, and instead roughly pushed past him to the door and opening it up.
"K-Kacchan... maybe don't go in there looking like you want to start a fight?" He mumbled, watching the other push past into the establishment... only to turn around and walk back out again a heartbeat later. There was a moment where something seemed... odd, and then there was a little puff of smoke and Bakugou kneeling on the pavement as though he'd just stopped himself from eating gravel.
"What are you-"
Midoriya cut Todoroki off as he whirled them into the little side alley beside the cafe an instant before the door opened for a second time, knowing that if they were seen with Bakugou who'd evidently just been thrown out then they'd lose what little chance they had of getting in.
From the open door, one of the staff members who wasn't yet in her uniform appeared. She folded her arms and leaned against the shut door, eyes narrowing at the ash blonde on the floor as he angrily dusted himself off and whirled to face her. Ashley gave him a stern look before she started to speak. "Need I remind you, Bakugou Katsuki, that you are on our banned list?"
She held up a sheet of paper that she'd evidently taken down on her way out here and he saw his own image while her smile turned vicious. "You're not permitted to enter our establishment. Now get lost, punk."
