Ch.6 - When You Close Your Eyes, You See What Your Soulmate Sees
"Alright, I think that's enough for now." Yayorozu's voice sounded in the common area and was followed by weary cries of joy from her peers as everyone reacted in their own way to the news. Mina sank face first onto the table with a happy but weary deflating sound while Kaminari looked as though his chair might absorb him if he didn't slide under the table from his slouching. Sero gave a weary grin and Jirou was the first to remember to thank the ravenette.
"Thanks Yao-Momo. That last lesson was killer. You're a lifesaver."
The words sparked a reaction from the others and they quickly offered up their own gratitude to the charity. The other students had steered clear from the common area so that their friends could have peace to focus. Still, it meant that as the group of interns who had been subject to tedious remedial lessons appeared, they were greeted only by a small group which was a relief.
"You survived!" Mina cheered, reviving herself enough to move from the table over to the door where Uraraka and Tsuyu were standing. The pinkette laughed as she took on the soulless expression on her friends' faces. "They really didn't let you off the hook, huh?"
Bakugou didn't pause to see Kaminari or speak with Kirishima as he stalked off over to the kitchen area immediately, drawing the attention of the rest of the Bakusquad. Even Midoriaya looked worried.
"Was that just me or does Bakugou look even more grouchy than usual?" Mina blinked, looking to Kirishima in a silent prompt for him to explain if he knew but the redhead only shook his head. In response, the attention shifted to the only two other members of their class who might have a faint idea of what it was.
Sero snickered, his hands resting casually on his hips. "He looks as though he's trying to impersonate Aizawa-sensei or Shinsou." Indeed, his eyes had looked worn and tired as though he hadn't slept.
"Just what did Endeavour do to you?" Kaminari laughed and received a small wince from the other heroes.
Waving the concern off, Midoriya still couldn't shake his own sinking feeling about everything. The extra lessons were exhausting on a weekend and on top of that they still had the vigilante case to get on with too-
"Hey, I know! I haven't eaten yet and neither have you guys so why don't we all go grab something and fire you up again? It seemed to work last time!"
Sero laughed and shook his head, the sound clearing the air of concern a little as he grinned at the straw blond. "Any excuse to go there, huh?"
"Hey! C'mon! The food's great there and it's not stupidly expensive either!" As Kaminari rattled off reasons why the café was great other than the staff themselves, Kirishima looked back over to his friend who was getting himself a drink from the kitchen.
"Still, wonder what's gotten into Bakugou... You think he stayed up late thinking about a girl?" Sero teased loudly, and the lack of reaction told them that their classmate had already muted out the world.
"That grumpy, huh?" Kaminari sighed in good humour, deciding to take his chances and try and get the attention of Bakugou. "And I thought his bad mood over the vigilantes was as bad as it could get..."
Raising a hand to his ear while his signature scowl settled on his face, Bakugou stared the other boy down. "What?"
"Kacchan, we were going to go out for a bit. Do you want to come? We might see something while we're out in the city if you're worried about the case." As much as he was well aware that Bakugou could potentially be abrasive at their destination, Midoriya didn't want to see his companion looking so peeved over what he could only assume was the internship.
