Ch.19 - When Soulmates are in Danger, Their Souls Hurt
"Thank you for coming." The white-haired female bowed, the blonde girl next to her bowing as well. "Have a wonderful night."
The final customers of the night waved back, still with blushing faces and full stomachs. Another day's worth of work and another day's money earned to keep this place afloat and allow them all to live comfortably.
Tsukki gently turned the open sign to closed, as Sai ran back inside the shop. The blonde bounced eagerly over to Sky and Luca who had already started on the cleaning of the tables. Her maid outfit stained from a few spills thanks to that energy filled personality of hers.
"What is the plan for tonight?" Sai asked with excitement in her voice. "Something exciting I hope!"
Sky shook her head. "You know we don't have anything aside from cleaning this place up."
Sai pouted. "Oh come on... that guy gave us so much information and we're not even going to follow any of it?!"
Luca chuckled. "We will... as soon as the UA hermit finishes up her search and sees if its good info to follow."
Sai sighed but knew better than to bother Amarante Chiyo. The girl was currently in the back of the little shop, in the 'tech room' as dubbed by Sai. Working away on a computer and assessing possible leads and where the group was to go next.
"She should be done soon," Nai spoke, coming through the room and collecting any bills left over to add to the day's tab and earnings. "She did come in on her day off after all... she's more into this than anyone else."
"I like to think we all are tied for equally but very different important reasons," Tsukki spoke, happily putting the last of the dirty dishes into a bin. "Oh! Who's on dish duty tonight by the way?"
"You are, Tsukki." Sky spoke, long used to the slight spacyness of the girl by now.
Tsukki playfully hit her own head and stuck out her tongue. "That's right! Where did Amelia and Reiki run off to?"
"They went to get our own dinner." Nai reminded her, also used to Tsukki's forgetfulness.
"That's right..." Tsukki sighed. "I hope they bring beef stew... I'm craving it right about now."
The others laughed a little bit and carried on. It had gotten late, but they were used to having weird hours of being awake and being asleep. There was a reason why the cafe didn't open until three in the afternoon after all.
Between preparing food, serving it, closing up and cleaning and then also fighting crime in the night... the nine people who ran this shop were a little more than busy. So the Sunday and Thursday nights they allowed themselves to not open the shop were nice.
The backdoor to the little cafe opened, and in came the red and pink haired girls. Ash had been waiting in the back, making sure it was her fellow peers and not random creepers who tried to come in through the back. And upon seeing the pair, Ash moved to lock the door.
All would be quiet now...and they could finally pig out a little bit.
"Ugh, I hate this dress." Amelia pouted, putting the food down onto the table in the break room, collapsing onto the floor.
"Ah mean!" Tsukki cried. But had already changed out of hers.
"They are too frilly," Sky added on, long changed out of hers.
"I like them." Reiki timidly muttered, passing out plates for all to use.
"That's 'cause only you, Sai, and Tsukki can pull off the cutesy look." Ash shook her head.
