Ch.38- Soulmate's share memories of their past lives together

Still huffing and heaving the idiot's form out of the wreckage, Bakugou walked down the debris while it cracked and groaned beneath his feet. Amelia's own exhaustion was evidenced in her face, but her joy and relief shone through making her nearly glow.

"I guess we should get him up to the surface and-"

There was an excited cry from somewhere above, and Sky's eyes widened.

"Sai, wait a-" She didn't even have time to finish before the female appeared in front of her, landing and immediately launching herself at the smaller vigilante. Laughing all the way, Sai tackled Sky into a hug, the other taking a step back, then yelping as they went down.

Amelia couldn't help her own smile as she watched the dust cloud rise up around them, Sky growling at Sai to get off and trying to pry the other from her. Bakugou dropped the villain down beside them as he came to stand in front of Amelia, Todoroki only a few steps behind her and the other idiots getting back to their feet.

"Guess we get this guy up there and make sure the heroes get to both him and the kids."

Amelia nodded, but before she could go to take the villain from Bakugou, Sai made grabby hands at the man. "Gimme - I'll take this one up so you don't have him burdening you."

Sky sketched a brow at her. "You're not here to give us a lift up as well?"

"Nope." From the grin that stretched across the blonde's face, both vigilantes knew this was some scheme of her own. "Where would the fun be in that?" Before Bakugou or either of the vigilantes could grab her, Sai had knelt beside the villain and vanished.

"Fucking great. Your group is something else, Night Light." He huffed, but there was no bite to the words.

Amelia merely gave an innocent smile back. "If we were all as straight laced as heroes, it'd be boring."

Bakugou looked inclined to argue, but bit down whatever retort he was thinking of. Instead, he turned his attention to the rest of the space, obviously busying himself with finding a way out. The hole in the ceiling looked like a good place to start.

So the small group began picking their way up. Once they'd hauled themselves back to the level above, both Sky and Amelia smiled at the sight, Bakugou and Todoroki seeming more inclined to grumble.

The Nine Syndicate might not have a calling card as such, but they hardly needed one. The sheer destruction caused when they got into a fight was close enough to a trademark for them. Warehouse goods were shattered and, as they got further towards the front, there was the odd unconscious form or two.

Damn, this place was a lot bigger than they'd bargained for. At least the subterranean levels.

At least the vigilantes had done a good job at clearing out the remaining henchmen. No villains appeared to challenge or stop them. A blessing, considering that all of them were weary and tired. The odd stumble from the two girls was enough to show that.

They'd separated slightly, Bakugou's pace having brought both himself and Amelia ahead by just a little way. The duo behind them made no move to catch up.

"Thanks."

The redhead blinked at the quietly spoken word, eyes wide before she smiled but said nothing. Now... wasn't the time to start thinking about things. Not when they had no idea who or what was waiting for them outside.

Amelia could tell as she glanced back to Sky who was quietly keeping pace with Todoroki that the female was worried. Her shoulders and features were tense while she didn't seem entirely with it - probably pushing her quirk to keep tabs on what was happening beyond the confines of the warehouse.
