Fresh sighed softly as he laid in his new bed. It felt odd having an actual bed instead of some sturdy hammock, but that doesn't mean that he was any less happy about it. It felt great on his back!
Actually, he couldn't really tell if the ship was floating or rocking, there was no creaking of the wood, no sound the waves splashing against the sides, not even the feel of it. It felt like he was on land in some expensive Inn.
"Fresh!" The soft chirp of Siren brought the pirate from his restless thoughts.
Smiling some, he turned to the kid, who was close to his bed. Oddly, Nav had made a small pool in his room. He probably caught onto PJ's clinginess, wouldn't really surprise him.
"Shouldn't you be near Ink?" He hummed out, carefully caressing the little thing's cheek.
The small skeleton leaned into the touch, not answering. They never really did answer any questions that weren't related to the two of them. At least when they were being touched by the other.
"Paperjam." Fresh allowed his tone become a bit heavier, threatening to pull his hand away.
Quickly, the little thing pulled his hand back onto their head with an unhappy pout. Yet, they finally answered.
"I told Inky that I was going to spend the night with you." His voice was higher pitch and whiny, yet so cute.
A chuckling sigh left the other's face, a smile gracing it. He then continued to rub and caress the little thing's head.
"Did he say yes, or did you swim away before he could?" There was a small knowing smile on the land-walker's face as he watched the other turn away with a pout. "How cute." He murmured, leaning over his bed some to kiss the top of the inky monster's damp head.
He really liked them. He wanted to know more about them, not to hunt their kind though... Just to know the little creature better than he already did now. Was that so bad? He didn't think it was so bad...
"Cling!" The Siren chirped happily, raising his arms up in a motion similar to how land child did with their parents.
Paper had seen a few land-walkers his size do this and they always got picked up. They always got to be held close together and their faces sprinkled with sweet kisses. He wanted that.
The pirate chuckled and nodded, but gentle pushed the other back into the calm sea water. He didn't want to pick them up until he knew that they weren't going to choking in his arms for a while.
The Siren seemed to understand, so he went down willingly and took a few deep breaths of the water before popping back up. Fresh laughed some as he saw the happy and blissful look on their face.
"You are too much." He murmured in a soft tone before gently picking the little thing up.
Swiftly, Jam latched onto the other, nuzzling their head close to their neck. A quiet, purring noise was heard and the parasite could almost feel a smile pressed against his bear neck. The pirate wasn't worried about the tailed being biting or eating him, they've cuddled before and nothings happened.
Leaning back some at an odd angle, the two flopped back onto the bed. Nav had said something about the sheets being able to absorb water and not rotting. Fresh wasn't really listening.
Looking down some, he was greeted with the soft sight of the healthy Siren laying on top of him. Their head shifted from his neck to his naked chest, the water being cool now.
"Don't forget to go into the water before bed, little Siren." Fresh whispered softly before closing his eyes and allowing himself to slip away blissfully.
Paperjam stayed on top of the other though, quietly staring at his face with a gentle look of happiness and love. He wanted Fresh to say that he'd keep him, he needed to hear those words. If the pirate said that then he wouldn't have to worry about being sold off or going back deep in the sea with Ink! He could stay with Fresh for as long as the human lived!
The smile on the ink monster's face grew some, his eyes beginning to droop. His body oddly felt warm, no... Not warm, on fire, but he could be bothered with it. He didn't care about it anyway, it wasn't hurting him at least.
Sighing quietly, his eyes finally closed with the soft wonder of what it would be like to walk around with Fresh.
