A few years passed with the pirates and the sea creatures growing closer and closer together. Over this time, they drifted away from being pirates and became Treasure Hunters and fishermen. It didn't hurt that the Age of Pirates was dying out, so they would need a new profession anyways.
During these years, the twins were the first ones to tie the knot with their land lovers the way the land-walkers did it. The whole crew was there, happily cheering and celebrating the day the Mer-skeletons and the old pirates became one by marriage. It was a beautiful day.
The next person to get married was Blue and Dust. Their wedding wasn't traditional like the twins. Instead, the two of them had spent months apart at different port towns and when they rejoined, they had brought with them their gifts. Both of them created swords, but they created unique swords that were specially designed with their love's fighting style in mind. Before the dance, the two of them dueled with their new weapons, laughing happily all the way to the dancing.
After those three weddings, Ink began to feel a bit... Lonely in sense. Yes, Error was taking wonderful care of him, loving him and treating him with respect, but... He wanted to be joined in a way that even the Gods had to acknowledge it. It was just, they had already spent so many years without marriage as in the mix, he worried he would seem needy or overbearing.
Yet, Error knew Ink well. He knew his Royal Merman wanted something and it wasn't hard for the Captain to figure out what his mate wanted. So, he happily prepared everything that was needed, even figuring out some of Ink's old traditions.
To say that the Royal Merman was surprised was an understatement. But, the happiness he felt was just beautiful, it radiating to everyone on that ship. Everyone had fun and happily celebrated the new marriage of their Captain and King!
While all of this was going on, Fresh was looking at Paperjam differently. Not a bad differently, he was just trying to figure out if the Siren wanted to get married like everyone else was. However, there was no sign of unhappiness from the teen, no longing look, no soft sighing... There wasn't anything different with how they acted. So, the parasite just decided after a while, to just simply ask if the other wanted to get married.
Now, the ink skeleton wasn't opposed to the idea, but he didn't really care about the marriage thing. All he cared about was whether or not Fresh claimed the Siren as his or not. Marriage was another way, but he liked the collar far more.
Fresh had chuckled at what his love told him, happily agreeing and kissing his Siren. Like he would ever look at another the way he looks at his Jammy. No one could ever compare. Not in the ways that truly matter.
The pirate and the Siren never got married, they didn't care about it like the others did. No one bothered to convince them to do it, because they were happy. They were happy saying they were mates or that Paperjam belonged to Fresh with little regard to how others would perceive it.
However, the other weddings, they were fun to enjoy.
