Sorrow and Guilt

The pirate Captains along with their first Mates and the two strongest, sat in the meeting room. With them was Ink and Paperjam along with some other Merpeople. They all looked like they had been through Hell.

Fresh hated how dead and frozen his mate looked. The young monster didn't have that sparkle in their eyes anymore, a constant frown on their lips.

"Jammy?" He murmured to his love.

The Siren looked to him, staring at him with blank eyes. Eyes that didn't want to see anything.

The parasite moved to the darker skeleton, gently cupping the other's face. He needed to feel them.

Jam began to sniffle before suddenly crying. The teen felt the weight of it all come crashing down. Like knives being forced into his heart, he only felt the pain. He sobbed and cried, hiccupping to the point no words could be said.

Fresh winced at the sight of his Siren crying so horribly. Gently, he pulled them to his chest, cradling them close. He hated seeing them cry.

Error stared at the two of them before looking to Ink. Ink looked away, the raw guilt in his body making it hard for him to look his mate in the eye.

The dark land-walker sighed softly, staring at the Merpeople and Siren with sad eyes. He knew something bad had happened. He wanted to know what it was, he wanted to help, but... At the moment, they just needed rest.

"If you all want, we can show you to your rooms... To rest..." He said slowly, his main focus being on the Royal Merman.

The pale skeleton winced, bowing his head as if he was ashamed of something. What was he so ashamed of? What happened?

"Please..." A dark cloaked Mer-skeleton whispered out, practically clinging to their twin.

The pirates nodded and stood up, except Fresh. He was still tightly holding a crying Siren. He didn't want to move just yet, he wanted to calm Paper down a little.

Error patted Fresh's shoulder before helping the Merpeople to their rooms.

The parasite sighed softly, kissing the top of the inky skeleton's head. He said nothing at the moment. He didn't know what to really say that would help.

PJ felt some of that horrible weight lift off of him as he sobbed into his love's chest. The silence was what he needed. He didn't need the false words of encouragement or given false hope. He doubt he could've handle it.

"I-I s-sorry..." He whimpered out, hiccupping a little.

Fresh kissed the other's head again, giving them a sweet squeeze.

"You don't have to be sorry... I'm right here..." He murmured, resisting the urge to say that it'll all get better. He doubts that's what the smaller one wants to hear.

A few more minutes were spent in that room, the silence being a comforting blanket. Once Fresh was sure that Jam could handle being moved, he got up and carried the smaller one to their room. They needed some rest... Rest will do them some good... He hopes.
