Cormac's POV:

I woke up to the sound of my alarm 7:30 am it said, I dreaded it but I woke up. As I was getting out of bed all I can think about is Meredith kissing a resident for some reason it bothered me and I don't know why. I get up and get dressed, brush my teeth, and went to go make breakfast for my boys for school today. I look at my phone and it said today was Thursday. I hear my boys come down the stairs and I call them to eat some eggs with pancakes. While we're eating I think to myself this is all I need, just me and my boys. After were done eating, I was driving them to school and I heard Liam say " Have you met anybody you have feelings for yet or any hot doctors?" " LIAM I cannot believe you just said that, we just moved here." In my mind I was thinking of Meredith but then pushed the thought away. Austin starts laughing at what Liam said. We shortly arrive at the school and I drop them off and head for work. I walk through the door and see Dr. Grey with the resident and their with another Attending laughing. I hear Meredith laugh and I was shocked to hear, it was the most beautiful laugh I have ever heard. It was so contagious. But I proceed to walk until I hear Meredith call me to join them. I really didn't want to because the was their with the resident but I went anyways because I didn't want to be rude.

Meredith's POV:

I woke up and I got dressed and ready to see my kids before I drop them off at school. I head down stairs and see Zola, Bailey, and Ellis all eating cereal together with Amelia. I look at them and I know they're all I need. I walk up to them and kiss them on their heads and said good morning. After their done eating I get them there stuff, put them in the car, and drop them off at school. I head to the hospital and see Andrew I walk up to him and kiss him on the cheek. " Hey you, what are you up to?" I say. Jo then walks up to us and says " Hi guys, good morning" " Good Morning Jo" me and Andrew both say. " Wanna see something funny?" she says. She then shows us a funny video and we all started laughing. I then see Cormac walking by and call him over so he can meet Jo and Andrew so he can make friends. He comes and I say " Jo, Andrew this is Cormac Hayes the new Head of Peds." They say hi and Jo proceeds to show him the funny video and we all start instantly laughing. I realize we all need to go change into our scrubs me, Cormac, and Jo all walk to the Attendings lounge.

Cormac's POV:

Jo was showing us a funny video and I gotta admit it was pretty funny and then Meredith says " We need to go change into our scrubs let's go". We then walk with her to the lounge and she then takes off her shirt in front of me and Jo. I quickly cover my eyes and she notices. " Hey were all doctors and adults here, it's not like I'm braless." she says. " Yeah but I still respect other Women and don't look, so I don't make them uncomfortable" I say. " Well I'm letting you know it doesn't make me uncomfortable because practically everyone has seen me change, were all family here and you're apart of us now." She says while removing her pants and putting on her scrubs. I then smile she walks out with Jo. I put my scrubs on and I go to the pit and I have anther patient with Meredith. I gotta admit I was excited working with her again.

Meredith's POV:

I see Cormac and this time we have a kid with a severe heart beat, fever with chills, and lower back pain. " Dr. Hayes can you come with me ?" I say. " Sure Dr. Grey" he says. We walk a few feet away from the boy and his mom and I whisper " All his symptoms are matching up with kidney disease I would like to get him tested to see if I'm correct." " Okay Dr. Grey I agree with you, I'll have an intern get his blood work and we can discuss the patient." he says. " Alright then it's settled." I say. He tells his intern to get the boy's blood work while we go outside to get a cup of coffee. " Double Expresso with a little sugar." he says. " Oh and for the both of us" he added. " How did you know my order?" I asked shocked. " I don't know I guess I kinda picked you for the type." he answers. We get our coffee's and walk over to a nearby table to sit down. " So why did you come to work at Grey Sloan?" I say. " Well my wife died two years ago and I guess I kinda just ran away from that." he says. I felt bad for him because I know the exact same pain when Derek died. " It gets better, well not all the way better put a little bit better." I say. " I thought you were with Dr. Deluca unless I am mistaken." he says. " Well my husband died five years ago and it took me a while to move on after him, but then I realized he would want me to be happy and if I'm honest Dr. Deluca makes me happy and I fell in love with him." I say. " Well I'm happy for you Dr. Grey." he says. " Call me Meredith were friends now." I say and smile. " Well you can call me Cormac" he says. " Meredith if you don't mind me asking how did your husband die?" he says not wanting to be rude. " Well he was hit by a Semi and he had horrible doctors but that story is for another time." I say. " If you don't mind me asking how did your wife die?" I ask. " She had cancer and died" he says. Before we could keep talking we were paged and threw our coffee's in the trash and left.

Cormac's POV:

I didn't expect Dr. Grey to have lost her spouse and it was a feeling of reassurance and it made me have hope that I could move on and be happy. As we went to our intern and he gave us the blood work and it was positive he needed a kidney transplant. I felt bad for the kid he was 11 the same age as Austin. " Well we need to tell the boy and his mom about a transplant from a close relative if not he will die in the next two days" Meredith says. " Shit" I mumble to myself. We walk over to the boy and his mother. " Ms. Foster your son has a kidney disease and will need a transplant right away and if he doesn't have one in the next two days he might not make it his case is very severe I'm so sorry" I say. " Oh god, um I want to get tested to see if I can let him have one of mine but I have to warn you I have a heart condition." the mother says. " Well I'm not sure it's a good idea for you to do this, you are more at risk not to make it off the table" Meredith says. " We don't have anymore family I was an only child and my parents are dead, his father left him when he was two, it has to be me to do this surgery I don't care if I'm at risk I need to do this." " Dr. Grey, do you have kids?" the mother says. I look at Meredith and she says " Yes I do, I have three." I learned something else about her today. " Well than you know that you would do anything for your child to be okay, which is why I'm doing it and I don't want you to talk me out of it, if they're papers I need to sign I'll sign it." says the mother. " Okay then I'll get the papers and I'll take both of you to surgery right away" I say.

Sorry it took me so long to update this chapter its long and kinda boring I'm sorry, also that coffee order I just made that up.
