"I love you, idiot."
He stood frozen mid-step, wide lavender eyes staring at me in what I could only assume was shock. I didn't bother saying anything else. There was nothing else to say.
After everything I'd been through in these last couple of months, I was done pretending he was something different. But, that didn't stop anxiety from making my heart rate spike when he still hadn't replied a few minutes later.
He was still staring at me with the same shocked, and maybe slightly spaced-out, look on his face.
"I- uh... I'm s-sorry Shin.." I stutter out between panicked breaths of air.
Whatever I said must've finally registered, because I was instantly in his arms. I tried to keep my heart steady at the new position we were in—One of my thighs on either side of his trim waist.
"I love you too, Denks."
I expected jokes. Or at least some mild teasing banter like we usually had, but there was nothing except serious sincerity in his gaze.
I opened my mouth, to say what, I don't remember.. Because as soon as my lips parted, another set of lips were on mine. Whereas mine were dry and cracked, his were soft and warm against me.
When his arms went to rest loosely around my waist, I decided to pull myself closer to him and deepen the kiss. This wasn't the first time I'd been kissed, but it felt like it..
There was nothing like the feeling Shinsou gave me, especially with his lips pressed and moving firmly against my own. My fingers tangled into his unruly indigo locks of their own accord and then I was living out one of my dreams.
This is actually happening...
The feeling of his tongue moving across the seam of my lips had a soft hum parting my lips enough for him to get past. But, he didn't go farther than that.
Shinsou's tongue caressed my own in soft strokes, just as his long fingers ran comfortingly through my probably messy spikes. His lips were warm and comforting, just like him.
A small gasp escaped me when he nipped at my lip, but my chest was screaming for air. Unfortunately, the need to breathe forced us to pull away—at least slightly.
Even after we caught our breath, we just sat there, in the middle of the main room floor, with me in his lap. It wasn't awkward or tense, just a comfortable silence between two people who had been there for each other time and time again.
When a throat clears, I try to scramble away, but am stopped by Shinsou's grip on my waist. His face was impassive, but I could practically feel the amusement rolling off him in waves at the sight of my blood-red face.
"Sorry to interrupt. But, could we maybe..."
Bakugou pushed past Mina with an exasperated sigh and finished for her, "Could we borrow Dunce Face for a minute?"
The slight squeeze of my hip was his way of asking what I wanted. If I asked, I knew he would tell them to come back later. Or, he would leave me with them if I wished it. And, though I knew that they weren't planning to team up on me again, my emotions were still a little too raw to deal with everything alone.
Before I could voice any of this though, Bakugou was already nodding with a look of understanding.
"We can talk about this later. Or, if you are feeling up for it, Eye Bags could always join us. But, we have some things we need to tell you. And some things I don't doubt you also have to tell us."
That was probably the most mature thing I'd ever heard from Bakugou and I was pleasantly surprised. I looked back at Shinsou, and he immediately nods and picks me up, making me shriek.
