After Zeido left, I grabbed my bags and found a corner to hide in so I wouldn't have to see everyone's eyes on me. Our little friendly show brought more attention to me than I thought and I didn't like it.
Wiping my sweaty palms on my jeans, I pull out my phone and swipe through iFunny in hopes that it will get rid of some of my anxiety. My page has almost 20,000 views, which isn't surprising given my hilarious content. I'm the meme king, after all.
"Hey, you're Denki right?" I look up at the owner of the soft and girly voice.
The pink-skinned girl has curly pale pink hair and what looks like yellow antennas on her head. Beautiful golden eyes, surrounded by black, look at me with anticipation and excitement. She looks nice and her fashion isn't that bad either.
"How did you know?" I ask, rubbing the back of my neck sheepishly.
She giggles quietly and throws a slim arm around my shoulder.
"Your friend said it."
I facepalmed and let out an embarrassed groan. Of course, that makes perfect sense. She lets out another cute, girly giggle and grins up at me. She's only a few centimetres shorter than me, but it's enough that she has to look up slightly when talking to me.
"And you are?"
"Ashido Mina, nice to meet ya!" She jumps in front of me and extends a small, pink hand.
I shake her hand with a small smile. "Nice to meet you, Ashido." Zeido was right... This place is so different.
"You can just call me Mina. Want to meet my best friend?"
"Su—"
"ALRIIIIIGHT!!!" A loud voice screams.
I cover my ears, noticing Mina did the same, and look up at the entrance where the shriek came from. Present Mic stands there with a sly grin and a tired, black-clad hero looking at his back with a grumpy glare.
Slowly, the other teens remove their hands from their ears and I do the same.
"Now that he got your attention, follow me and he'll explain along the way." Mr. Aizawa says monotonously.
We walk as a group past the building, following a trail toward a distant building. As we get closer, Present Mic starts explaining how the quirk exam will work. This is what I was worried about, because short-circuiting would definitely make me fail.
"You guys are here today, because you have been accepted as students at UA. This test isn't one you can fail, it just determines what class you'll be placed in."
There was a collective sigh of relief from everyone. I'm glad I'm not the only one who was worried.
"You guys will be doing mock battles in an urban area simulation and your goal is to immobilize the 'villains', which are actually robots. Use your quirks to defeat them, but no teaming up and ABSOLUTELY NO attacking other participants. That will result in immediate disqualification."
"Tell them the points, Hizashi."
"Oh, right! Each robot is worth a number of points and you have ten minutes to get as many points as you can. The bigger they are, the more points they're worth. The easy bot is one point, medium bot is two, and the hard bots are three. Make sense?"
I nod along with the other students, walking closer to the large building. Mr. Aizawa clears his throat and sends the other hero a look. I'm one of the closest to them, so I can hear the blonde when he mutters, "You're no fun, Shouta."
"One more thing, kids! The largest of the robots is worth zero points, so it'd be best if you just avoided it altogether."
"Why is it zero points if it's the biggest, sir?" A cute, pink-cheeked brunette asks curiously.
