(The Bidding - Tally Hall/Snap Out Of It - Arctic Monkeys)
~I want to be with you. From now on, I want to spend all and every single one of my days until i die with you, and only you. – Uzumaki Naruto~
The mission took place the next day. There were no major problems. I must admit, Aiko was quite clever for her 15 years. We were able to find the documents easily. On said documents was information about me, about the L/n clan. I found out that there was a Jutsu called "God Mode". My clan invented it. In fact, my clan was the only one to use. It was a rare ability which could only get used by one person. Right now, it was me. My blood seemed to be different, compared to the blood of the other L/n's. All the members from my clan had poison in their blood. The poison in my blood could be removed. After removing the venom, it would be able to heal wounds, severe ones too.
Cleaning the laboratory was a bigger pain than expected. Luckily, I had a good fan following, who helped me out. Said fans were Deidara, Hidan, Aiko and to my surprise Itachi. While I considered Rai a fan too, she was no help. She ate her precious nuts on a pale of files. Everything in here was covered in dust. I couldn't complain though. The tools I needed were there. After a hour or so, we were done. Aiko stayed, since I needed to run some tests on her.
"Are you scared of needles?" I asked the kid, who spund around on a chair. This seemed to be the first time, she sat on a spin chair. Aiko stopped, looking a bit afraid. "No. Of course not." She said, lending me her arm so I could take a blood sample. I raised my eyebrows, looking at her in desbelief. "Ok, maybe a little." I had to chuckle. "Do you know medical-ninjutsu?" I tried to distract her. "Barely. I left the village too soon though." Aiko told me as I sticked the needle inside her arm. "Do you want me to train you?" I asked as I stick a needle into my arm too. "Yes! That would be so cool!" I nodded, leaning back in my chair.
The results were ready after another hour. Aiko had no clue what this all meant. "You're a L/n. But only half. I'm guessing only one of your parents were a part of our clan. I can see that due to your blood not being poisoneus."
I spent the rest of the day in the lab trying to figure out how to extract the poison.

You sat by your table, writing a report about the mission. Something that you wouldn't report was the god mode. It was a secret, which you would keep to yourself. For now. The god mode could help you out when protecting your cousin. Having the others know about it would just be a burden. Not to forget that Pain had a god complex going on and you didn't want to risk, becoming a rival in any kind of way. It was the safer choice.
There was chakra near your door. You didn't let that stop you from writing. That was until the door opened. This revealed a terrified Aiko. "What's up, kid?" You asked, being a bit uncomfortable due to her crying. She calmed herself down, so she had a easier time talking. "I had a nightmare." She stated. Just now you noticed that her body was shaking. You didn't really know what to say. She sat down on your bed as you did the same.
One of your arms were on her shoulders, pulling her towards you. "Oh. Do you want to talk about it?" This didn't sit right with you. You were put into a situation, where you had to comfort a child. Taking care of Aiko wasn't the problem. The problem was you. You had no clue how to comfort someone. "My brother told me to leave. So I did. He's on his own now." Aiko told you, hugging her legs. She looked at you, unsure about her next words. "What's if he hates me now?"
You focused on the floor. The last thing you wanted was her to feel bad, to blame herself. Over the last few weeks, you got to see who Aiko's personality. She was a closed off brat, who had a lot of problems when it came to socializing. At the same time she was smart, willing to learn. Yes, she was disrespectful, but that didn't change the fact that she was a innocent child, whose goal was to survive. There was a lot of potential in her.
"We'll get him out of there." Your eyes didn't leave the ground. "Are you being serious?" She asked, hope arising inside of her. You put a hand on her head, pulling her into a hug. "Yes. I promise." She put her arms around you. Aiko couldn't help it, but to view you as a motherly figure. No matter what, she felt safe when being with you. She could believe you.

The report was finished soon enough. To your surprise, Pain was still awake. Therefore you brought the report to his office. After a bit of chit-chat, which annoyed you leader, you walked back to your room. You stopped in your tracks as you noticed noises coming from a certain room. The Uchiha's room. You opened the door without wasting another second.
There was a candle next to Itachi's bed, which helped your eyes to see. Closing the door you walked over to the sleeping Itachi. He clearly had a nightmare. You cursed to yourself, wondering why you decided to check up on him. At first you were unsure whethter you should just leave or wake him. You woke him up.
He jumped up as his reflexes kicked in. His hands moved up to wipe away the tears. "Are you okay? You were saying: "I just wanted to protect you." over and over again." The worry on your face was something Itachi couldn't stand seeing. "I'm fine. You can leave." He sounded emotionless while talking. It didn't surprise you whatsoever. "Are you sure? You can talk to me. I don't judge." Not wanting to stand anymore, you sat down on Itachi's bed.
Silence followed. He stared at you, wondering what to say. There were so many thoughts inside of his head, but he didn't know how to express them. "I don't deserve you." He mumbled. It was barely understandable. You flicked his forehead. "You're stupid. Everyone deserves to be cared about." Instead of speaking, he coughed. He took a tissue and covered his mouth with it. You could smell the blood.
"You're sick?" This was supposed to be a statement, but it sounded more like a question. He didn't say anything. The thought of him being in pain bothered you. "I can help you with the pain." You stated, urging to make his problems disappear. The reason could have been your mother, who you watched suffer, who couldn't sleep all night due to the pain, the blood which she coughed. It also could have been because you cared. It didn't matter. In the end you wanted him to be fine.
"You don't have to." Itachi spoke. You looked around, searching for something sharp. The kunai on his near by desk was appealing. You reached out to grab it. Afterwards cutting your palm, so you could perform medical ninjutsu. "But I'm already bleeding." The Uchiha shook his head. "You're so stubborn. It's annoying." He muttered the last part as you just smiled at him. "We both know you love this about me." While you weren't wrong, he surely wouldn't say it outloud.
