~When people are protecting something truly precious to them. They truly can become...as strong as they need to be! – Haku~

While stealing the scroll, you found out it contained a jutsu about reincarnation. You didn't trust the sound village one bit. Therefore you switched out the real scroll with a duplicate. Afterwards you made your way back to the hideout with the hope of never having to see Dai again. There were no other mission for the rest of the year.

Currently, it was night, you were sitting on top of a roof. Said roof belonged to a hotel. Naruto and Jiraiya would be staying there for the night. When you had time you would check up on Naruto's progress. Further on having talks with Jiraiya.

"We didn't see each other in a long time." You heard Jiraiya's voice. He sat down next to you. "I spent time with Itachi, since both of us had time." You explained, looking up from your book. "I see. I won't ask further questions then." He spoke, elbowing you. You shook your head at his perverted ways.

"What are you reading?" The Sanin asked, slightly looking at the book in your hands. "Tale of the Utterly Gutsy Shinobi." You answered, cursing the author for giving it such a long title. "Oh? Where did you find it?" He wondered, seemingly surprised that you owned it. "Let's say, I inherited it from my mother." Closing the book, you made eye contact with him. "Do you like it so far?" Another question followed. "It's pretty good." You admitted. "Well, then you'll be happy to hear that I wrote it." His confident crumbled as you gave no reaction. "Why aren't you excited?"
"I figured you would be the author. The writing style seemed all too familiar and this is the book that inspired Minato to call his son Naruto, right?" Jiraiya sighed, hoping that you would at least ask for an autograph. "You're no fun." With that he stood up to go back into his room. You eventually went back to the hideout. It was on you to cook for your friends after all.

~*~*~*~*~*~

After dinner, Aiko offered to do the dishes, clearly wanting something from you. You brought the last plates into the kitchen, placing them next to the sink. Aiko focused on the dishes, so you didn't want to interrupt her. You turned around, only to be stopped by your student. "So... You and Itachi have been together for a year now, right?" It was surprising that she remembered something like that. "In a week... I believe." You mumbled the last part.

"By the way, what do you want from me?" Aiko put the plate into sink and turned around to face you. "Well, everyone is drinking sake and-"
"No." You cut her off, knowing what she wanted. "I'm not allowing another case of underage drinking. You're 15! Your brain isn't even fully developed yet." Aiko crossed her arms in front of her chest. "I'm 16."
"Don't talk back!" You turned around to walk away. "You're starting to sound like a mother." She yelled after you. "Be happy that you have a parental figure!" You spoke, while walking out of the kitchen, towards your room.

In your room, you intended to relax, maybe continue reading or just laying on your bed to think about the secrets of the universe. Thinking about such corny things, you had to smile at yourself. The relaxation part didn't last too long as you had to stand up again, in order to answer the door. Someone - Itachi - was waiting on the other side. The man waiting by the door had a small present in his hand. He looked somewhat nervous, shy even. Your first assumption was that he had worries about your reaction to his gift.

"Since it's our anniversary." Itachi broke the silence as your eyes widen by his words, "Right." You said, having the urge to punch yourself. Both of you sat down on your bed. He handed you the in paper wrapped object, awaiting for you to open it. Unwrapping it, you noticed that the present was wrapped twice. On the second paper one could read 'for Itachi from Y/n'. Cracking a little smile, you handed it to him. He revealed that the gift was a book, one that he told you about and one that you were originally planning on buying. Well, before you forgot about its existence.

You kissed him, wondering what you did to deserve him. Itachi was surprised at first, but kissed you back after processing the situation he was in. A smile appeared on your face as you two kissed. Nevertheless, the kiss didn't last too long, you already pulled away, placing a hair strand of his behind his ear. "You're the best man I could've asked for." You told him with your arms around his neck and an amused smile.

After pulling you further towards him, the both of you enjoyed a long hug, one that neither of you wanted to come to an end. In fact, you didn't want any of this to end. You thought back to the past months. Every single little date you two had, every single silly fight and ever single mission you were on. Everything seemed so perfect at the moment. How could you wish for this to end? You didn't want to part ways with him or any of the akatsuki members. It would come to such a parting of ways eventually. Pretty soon in fact.

Your dear leader chose for all of you to start the real missions now. You would go off, all around the world, in order to catch the remaining jinchurikis.
"How about we run away?" You asked, meaning it. He seemed to be thinking about your words, making you smile. "To do what? Have children? Live in our own house somewhere far away?" Itachi questioned, his question being a genuine one as well. "If you desire to have children, sure." Itachi smiled, clearly liking this plan, but his smile dropped rather quickly, "You know we can't do that. We have too many responsibilities."

You crossed your arms in front of your chest, while refusing to acknowledge that he had a point. "Come on! Who cares?" He only looked at you, no expression on his face. It was all too clear that he was judging your words. "They're important to us. Are they not? You have to take care of Naruto."
"And you of Sasuke." You added, being somewhat annoyed. Not because you two had other important people in your lives, but because it kept you from living in peace. You whined, letting your head fall on his chest. "We can certainly start becoming a family." Itachi spoke. One of his hand was rubbing your back, the other one was searching for something in his pocket. His words made you frown. "What?" You sat up straight to look at him. Lowering your gaze, you noticed a ring in his hand. "Would you like to marry me?" Not even thinking about it, you nodded and hugged him. He hugged you back. This must have been one of the tightest hugs you have ever experienced. "I'm relieved."
