homesick

He let his legs dangle over the edge
Shoe laces untied
-emotions displaced
A burning cigarette
Rested between cut lips
Contrasting against his brown skin
Wisps of smoke
Swirled and whirled
From the tip of his cigarette
He watched it disperse
Jaws clenched
Dark tired eyes blank
He tossed aside his cigar
And stood up
He couldn't see the sunset
Past the tall buildings
Yet he stared ahead wistfully
Clenched fist stuffed
Into his pockets
He sighed,
Missing home
