~Isabelle Blake~

Strands of my hair were plastered onto my forehead with sweat. I controlled my breathing and sighed from relief. My heart thudded when I heard the little cry, lighting up my face instantly. The painful part was over, now just to see what I’d waited 9 months for.

The nurse was smiling, holding a pink bundle of blankets in her arms. It was what lay inside the blanket that I longed to see.

“Your daughter, Mrs. Blake,” she said and handed her over. I couldn’t stop the smile and grinned helplessly. I small hand shot out into the air and she gurgled. I looked up to see Nathan beside me, positively beaming.

He got up and took the tiny hand. He looked down at her face, her eyelids shut tightly.

“She’s…beautiful,” I heard his voice catch a little and then he kissed her forehead. He looked at me and smirked. He cupped my face and kissed me, then pulling away and resting our heads together.

“Go call everyone,” I breathed.

He turned and walked out of the doors. The nurses and Doctors kept smiling and making sure the baby was alright.

Several people walked in. I caught sight of Graham, storming in. He’d grown so much and was taller than everyone at the age of 16. Then I saw my Mom and Dad. My mom clasped her hand to her mouth and started to cry.

“Oh goodness, she’s so tiny and beautiful.” She said and headed towards me.

Then I saw Nathan again, walking into the room with his mother and holding Franklin in his arms. A faint smile curled on her face as she strode towards everyone.

“A name,” my dad said and I racked my brains for a suitable on. We hadn’t thought of baby names. We hadn’t even thought of one for Franklin but in the end we knew exactly what to name him. Franklin Thomas Blake. In memory of his grandfather and Thomas he never got to meet.

“I say Graham Jr.” Graham piped up and smiled smugly. I raised an eyebrow and shook my head.

“No way, she’s a girl.” I say sternly.

“Then…Maharg?” He suggested and shrugged his skinny shoulders.
