“Franklin, please,” I groan and put my head in my hands. Bringing Franklin was a mistake since I have mountain of paperwork Alison has left me.

I look up to see Franklin running around with a piece of ribbon. I don’t know where he got it from but he seems happy with the thing yet disturbing me. The headache makes me feel dizzy for a second when I completely lose control and yell at him for shouting.

“FRANKLIN! BE QUIET!”

He stops dead in his tracks. The piece of ribbon falls from his hands and his chest begins to heave and tears form in his eyes. He starts crying and falls to the floor, curling up into a ball and sobs.

Just brilliant. I stand up and sigh. I shouldn’t take it out on him, not with everything going on. No-one else is to blame but me and Alan. Will he ever leave us alone?

“Hey buddy,” I say softly and grasp his shoulders, picking him up in my arms. He doesn’t resist so I rest his head on my shoulder. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry I shouted. Do you want to go home?”

He nods and wipes his eyes with the back of his small hands. I pick up the phone and call for Gareth. My new driver and body guard since Thomas passed away. At least Gareth is reliable just like Tom was.

In an instant, Gareth is at the door and gives me a small nod. “Yes, sir?”

“I want you to take Frank home to Belle.” I say when Alison waltzes in and looks through the papers on my desk.

“She’s not at the Mansion; she’s at her parent’s house with Emma.” Alison informs me and I sigh, handing Frank over to Gareth. “Well, can you make sure he gets there?”

Gareth gives me a nod and walks out whilst I walk back to my chair and slump back. The leather seat squeaks beneath me and I slam my fist in the desk.

“Are they here yet?” I ask and massage my temple. This is too much stress. I’d seen my dad go through this so I should have known the consequences. But it’s because of my dad I’m in this mess.

“Yeah, they’re on their way up.” She confirms and puts her hand on my arm. “Just stay calm,” she says and smiles kindly. I wish I could.
