3rd Person POV...

Megumi wasn't feeling too well as the sky darkened so Sukuna carried him to their shared room. "I've made you the soup you requested Blessing. Do you need anything else?" Uraume questions. Sukuna had left over an hour ago, saying he had some important things to take care of. Fushiguro didn't question it.

"No thank you, Uraume." Megumi smiles. Uraume is taken back, surprised. He becomes more shocked when the curse returns the kind smile. It's small but it's beautiful. Megumi's stomach warms. Uraume might be frustrating and sometimes scary but... Megumi doesn't see him that way anymore.

He's a curse of few words, he's loyal to Sukuna and at the same time loyal to Megumi in his own way. Uraume bows before exiting the room. Megumi gets up, carrying his soup and sits down in front of the cage. He lifts the spoon and brings it to Itadori's lips. His friend eagerly drinks it, his stomach aching in pain. "I'm going to talk to Sukuna... I'm going to get you out the cage. I promise."

"Pfft, talk to him? He can't be reasoned with. Please don't try Megumi, I don't want him to hurt you." Itadori reaches out, softly holding the pretty omega's hand. Megumi gives his hand a gentle squeeze, putting more soup onto the spoon and continuing to feed Yuji.

"You can't reason with him, no one can. No one except me. Itadori, just trust me-"

"I do trust you Fushiguro. It's Sukuna I don't trust! Look at what he's done to us. He's a monster. You don't have to fight for me! Gojo Sensei will save us. He'll kill Sukuna and we will be free." Megumi flinches at hearing that. Kill Sukuna? His heart aches and it makes him shift uncomfortably. That is what he wanted in the beginning but not now. He tried to do the right thing, tried to fight the King of Curses and push him away.

In the end, he didn't want to do that. All Sukuna knew was chaos and destruction, he's only ever done what interests him; what will satisfy his bloodlust, doesn't matter who gets taken down or hurt along the way. He doesn't know how to be soft, how to be so gentle but he's learning and it's because of Megumi. Megumi no longer cares about the blood on Sukuna's hands, no longer cares because there is no reason to anymore.

The world is destroyed, the citizens he's tried to protect are dead now. He's free, free from the expectations and the guilt. "Yuji... I won't allow it to come to that." He raises the spoon to Itadori but instead he pulls back a bit with a confused expression. Megumi sighs, putting the spoon back down into the bowl and he goes to pull his hand back but Itadori holds on tighter.

"Come to what?"

"...I don't want Sukuna to die. I won't let Gojo kill him. Itadori, I've chosen to stay. I can't help how much I-"

"You don't love him. Megumi, you don't! You don't care about him! Is it the... sex? Don't let that fool you into believing this could work. It never can. He's a curse and you're human like me. You shouldn't be with someone evil like that." He tries to reason but Megumi's expression shows it didn't reach him.

"I can do what I want, it's my life. Itadori, I've always... watched him. When he'd take over your body I was scared but so amazed by him. I realize I wasn't exactly scared of him but that he would kill you. Now you two are separated, he isn't taking over your body. He sees me, sees what I'm capable of. He's saved me, healed me, and listens when I speak-"

"Don't we do the same thing? We listen to you, we know how cool you are! We might not have abilities like that but we would bandage your wounds if you would allow it. Megumi, don't." Itadori pleads, his voice cracking as he pulls Megumi closer. The boy can smell the flowery scent of the outside on Megumi. It almost makes him believe he's free, that he's out there too.

"It isn't the same. It will never feel the same. I'm not betraying you, Itadori. You all will always be important to me. Who I choose to be with doesn't concern any of you-"

"Even Gojo Sensei?" He hisses. How could Megumi say those things so seriously? Has he seriously always been intrigued by Sukuna? Itadori has always known Sukuna has had a weird infatuation with Megumi but that's all he thought it was. He certainly didn't think that it was this intense, this serious.

"..." Megumi doesn't reply as he pulls his hand out of the tight grasp. "Eat please." He slides the bowl over even closer. Itadori curses, throwing the bowl. Megumi flinches, his heart hurts. "Itadori-"

"Don't talk to me. I just want to be left alone. Am I still allowed to have alone time?!"He spats not looking at the boy. Megumi's face goes emotionless as he turns away. He should've expected this. He's displeased his friend and now he's turned his back on him. Sukuna wouldn't do that. He opens the door and Uraume looks at him.

"Uraume could you...take me to the kitchen? I would like to have your company." Megumi forces a smile. Uraume was unsure but felt oddly delighted at the offer. He agrees, leading the way with Megumi walking beside him. Would Sukuna be mad? No, it's not like he's trying to escape. A part of him misses the curse, what is he doing? Is he going to keep his word about not going out of his way to hurt Megumi's friends? He hopes so.
