~Chapter Twenty-Five~

3rd Person POV...

"He has a slight fever but he's going to be okay." Nanami says with a sigh, placing the wet towel onto his forehead. His breathing is fast, a bit uneven. Nobara is relieved it wasn't anything serious. Some of these marks on his body will scar and this makes her angry. How could someone hurt such a good person?

Megumi exits Gojo's bedroom with him trailing beside. "How is he?" Megumi questions. He glances at his best friend but quickly looks away. He doubts Itadori even wants to be his friend anymore. It's okay, this was going to happen sooner or later. Someone who is like the sun can never truly be friends forever with someone as dark as Megumi anyway. It was witless of Fushiguro to get close to him.

"Just a fever, nothing serious to concern yourself with. How about you? Do you need to be checked?" Nanami questions but Megumi shakes his head 'no'. Toji looks at his son and gives him a nod to let him know he's here and he's on his side. Nobara hugs Megumi tightly, holding back the urge to sob. He holds her back, allowing her to give him affection before he tells them.

She pulls back, a relieved smile on her face. He gives her hands a slight squeeze before letting them go. "I have to return now-"

"Return? You don't plan on going back do you?" Maki interrupts.

"I'm going back to Sukuna. I no longer wish to return to the school, I will stay here by his side. I'm also... going to marry him." He finishes. It's deathly quiet, no one dare speak. Unsure of what to say or even if they heard Megumi correctly. Naoya is the first to react, he's raging at this.

      "You're not going back! Are you insane?"

     "He's my son, Naoya. Kid was never going to be entirely sane." Toji jokes only angering his cousin more. He throws Toji a glare before turning his attention back on the younger Fushiguro.

      "You brat, the clan is willing to take you in despite you being an omega-"

       "I never asked them to. I'm not a Zen'in. I am a Fushiguro. I have no interest in them or what they want from me." Megumi replies calmly. Naoya moves forward but before he can touch Megumi, Uraume holds out his hand which stops Naoya in his tracks. He glares at the male but the curse's expression remains cold. Naoya threatened what he see's as his pup, he's lucky Uraume didn't kill him.

       "Uraume, it's okay. Dad, I'm ready to go." Megumi says. He ignores Nobara calling after him, hearing her fight with Maki. Megumi is lost in thought, he wishes he could've spoken to Yuji. He wishes he didn't have to ask a serious favor of Gojo after breaking his heart. It's for Sukuna, it was for him.

       Toji pats the top of his son's hair. "You did good, stood your ground. I'm proud of ya kid. Speaking of, you didn't mention you were carryin' a kid of your own." He says. Uraume perks up, paying close attention to the conversation now. He doesn't trust Toji and it was perfectly understandable seeing as he just met this man.

        "I'm still trying to process it myself. It's...scary." Megumi frowns, avoiding eye contact with his father. Toji —with his arm around Megumi's shoulders— pulls him closer to his side. Megumi looks up at him curiously with his light green eyes. A shade similar to Toji's own.

       "I was scared when I had you-"

       "You also sold me to a pervert-"

        "Megumi don't ruin the moment." Toji groans while his son chuckles. "Anyway brat, it's scary having a kid especially when you come from a fucked up family. I know, I had to endure the Zen'ins. I didn't deem myself worthy of such a blessing, of you. Just because things weren't perfect, doesn't mean you will be like us. You won't, I know it just by lookin' at ya. Even if you suck in the beginning, you'll get the hang of it. You're better than those Zen'ins and you're going to be better than me. I say so because I'm your dad, I'm always right when it comes to you."

        "You're so confident in that... but thank you. That means a lot coming from you."
