Katniss pov:
Annie walks me to history class which is the only me and Peeta aren't in together. Bummer I think to myself. Haymitch Abernathy is our history teacher but he doesn't do much teaching and I am pretty sure that's not coffee he's drinking. Annie says we can do whatever we want so I just go on my phone. Then I get a text from my best friend from my old school ,Madge Undersee.
Madge- Hey Kat we all miss u back at school ☹️.
Katniss- I miss you too but this school isn't so bad.
Madge- can u plsss blow up a teachers chair and come back?!?!?
Katniss- sorry Madge it doesn't work like that and I
promised Prim I would try.😢😊
Madge- Fine I gtg back to class🥺
Katniss- bye love ya😘
Madge- love u toooo💜
Annie looks over and asks " who you texting, is it Peeta??" She says Peeta in a sing songy voice.
" no why would you think it's Peeta?"I ask
" because I think he likes you and I know you like him" she says with a smile.
"I....um I don't like him" I say hoping she will believe me because I don't even know how I feel I mean I just met him.
" Ok whatever you say" she says.
After that I walk over to my locker where Peeta, Finnick and clove are waiting for me since we all have the same gym class and I don't know where the gym is.I put my books in my locker and they walk me to the gym. Clove takes me to the girls change room where we change into a sports bra and I put on some black adidas leggings with white stripes on the side, I already had my gym cloths pre-packed just in case. Me and clove walk out of the change room and I see some of the guys aren't wearing any shirts, and Peeta is one of them wow he has a hot 6 pack I think to myself then I realize Peeta is staring at me most of the time that would make a girl blush but not me I never blush. Coach Cinna said since it's the first day of school we can do whatever we want so me Finnick,Peeta and clove play some basket ball, after about 20 minutes Clove goes to ask the coach about cheerleading and Finnick goes to talk to some other friends.
" So are you going to cheerleading tryouts" Peeta asks me.
" No, are you?" I ask in a joking way. That makes Peeta laugh which makes me laugh Peeta has such a nice laugh.
" Hey I never got your last name" He says
" Oh it's everdeen" I say. "What's yours"
" Mellark" that sounds familiar.....wait the Mellark Bakery.
" Mellark as in Mellark Bakery?" I ask.
" Yep"
" Oh I love the cheese buns there" I say.
" Ha well I guess now I have to make you some" he says.
" You bet you do" I say. And he just gives me a smile and I smile back and we just keep gazing into each others eyes I could stay like this forever.
