Peeta pov:
There are a billion fireworks going off inside me. I am not going to be the one to break this kiss. Eventually we both pull apart because we need to breath. Dang oxygen being so selfish.
"We should get going" says Katniss says almost at a whisper.
"Ok" I say.
We slowly pull apart and I take my hands off katniss's waist. I get in the passenger seat of her jeep and she puts her hands on the wheel but then she looks at me.
"Do you have your license" she asks.
" I have my learners permit" I say.
"Well I am a licensed driver, do you want to drive" she asks.
"Really I can drive your Jeep?" I ask in disbelief.
"No" she says and my face falls. "of course you can you big dummy". She gets out of the car and we switch seats. I put my hands on the wheel and feel awesome.
"PEETA!!!" Katniss yells.
"What are you ok" I ask.
"Yeah just put your hand on 2 and 11" she says innocently.
"Oh my god I thought you were dying" I say and it makes her laugh.
"Ok now go to your house I have to call prim" she says. Katniss and prim have a normal conversation on the phone when prim asks a question that makes me blush but she doesn't know I am there.
"No prim gosh how old are you?" Katniss asks and starts laughing.
"Well sorry and I am 14 for gosh sake" says prim over the phone.
"Well bye primmy" says Katniss and hangs up. She looks at me and starts to laugh.
"Don't laugh I am not the only virgin in this car" I say.
"Who says I am a virgin" she responds. And I blush. "I am joking Peeta. Your so cute when you blush" she says. I just keep my eyes on the road. Once we get to my house I really hope my mother isn't home.
"I am home!" I yell.
"Hey Peet" says Rye. "Who's the girl?" He asks looking at Katniss.
"This is Katniss the girl I am dating and Kat this is my other brother Rye" I say. Me and Katniss aren't girlfriend and boyfriend not yet.
"Oh you haven't had the guts to asks her to be your girlfriend yet?" He says and that makes Katniss laugh.
"Haha I like her" he says.
"Where is Conner and dad?" I ask.
"Conner is on a date with some girl and dad is out buying groceries". He says.
"Where's mom?" I ask.
"In the kitchen you better go" he says.
"Come on Kat let's go" I say and grab her wrist leading her up to my room.
"What's wrong with me seeing your mom?" She asks.
"My mom isn't so friendly" I say and think of how abusing and rude she is.
"Oh ok" Katniss says with a confused face. "Anyway nice room" she says as she sits on the edge of my bed.
"So are you going to tell me what happened between you and Delly?" I ask.
"When there was always something between me and Delly" she says. " At some point we were friends but when my father died in the factory explosion she hated me she would make fun of me for not having a dad and she would beat me after school" she says calmly.
"Katniss that's horrible" I say.
"It's ok please don't give me pity" she says. "Plus after middle school I would fight back and I didn't give her much mercy so I am as bad as her" she says.
"Katniss you are nothing like Delly Because first you have a heart and your not a demon spawn" I say and that makes Katniss laugh.
" I guess but after 8th grade she didn't have much of a winning streak in our fights so after a while she stoped fighting me and just used words to hurt me" she says.
"Like what words?" I ask.
"Nothing bad but when the factory explosion happened I was nearby I went unconscious and I was on fire but I didn't get any burns and some people started to call me......" she trails of and begins to lightly hyperventilate and I see a tear go done her eye.
"Katniss what's wrong, stop your scaring me" I say. I go over and rap me arms around her and her breathing goes back to normal and she didn't cry only one tear escaped her eye.
"Sorry I can't say it" she says.
"It's ok" I say and I keep hugging her. "You don't have to say it" I tell her.
"Ok thank you" she whispers and buried her face into my chest. Whatever happened it had to be something bad.
"Sorry I don't like to cry. I don't like to show weakness" she says.
"Crying doesn't show weakness Katniss it makes us human to show emotions" I say. She looks up at me.
"Ok" she says.
" I am really excited for tomorrow" I say with a smirk.
"Why?" She asks and my face falls. " I am joking Peeta I can't for our date tomorrow. Where are you taking me?" She asks.
"That's a secret, but you have to where something fancy is all I am telling you" I say.
"Fine but don't spend to much money I am not worth it" she says.
"Your worth the world" I say and her beautiful grey eyes stares into my dull blue eyes. I feel myself leaning in and the next thing I know her lips are on mine.
"Well isn't this cute" I hear Conner say.
"Didn't you have a date?" I ask irritated.
"Yeah but she stood me up" he says and Katniss snorts.
"You thinks that's funny?" He asks.
"Well yeah you were teasing how Peeta 'finally' found a girl when you can't get one yourself" she says laughing.
"Whatever" he mutters and walks away.
"Sorry I had to" she says.
"It's ok" I say laughing.
"Well I have to go or my mom will get mad" she says walking out the door.
"Ok bye" I call out. She walks back in the room and gives me a quick peck on the lips.
"Bye" she says and leaves.
"Hey hot stuff" I hear Conner say to Katniss's from downstairs.
"Please don't call me that" she says and I know she is trying to be nice.
"Sorry but it's true" he says. Half of me wants to see how this will play out and the other half of me wants to go downstairs.
"How about one kiss and we call it a day" he says with a smirk.
"I really rather kiss a dogs ass" she says and I have to help myself from laughing.
"I wish there was something between us" he says.
"Yeah like a wall" she says and walks out the bakery. I walk downstairs and see Conner.
"Can you not hit on my girlfriend?" I ask.
"Technically she's not your girlfriend" he says.
"Just stop hitting on her girl" says Rye.
"No promises" says Conner and walks upstairs.
"He such an idiot but he's right you have to ask her to be your girlfriend before it to late" he says.
"I know I am planning to ask her on our date tomorrow night" I say. I have to ask her before some other guy asks her.
