"rin, hurry up!"

he let out a small whine, grabbing his bag that was sitting on his bed. his hair wasn't done, his outfit was a disgrace to his mom's fashion career, and he got three hours of sleep last night. 

great. just great.

"RIN CASSANO NANASHIMA!" 

he hurries down the stairs to see his sister waiting for him. nana was more dressed up than he is; but then again, she always is.

"don't call me by our Italian last name," rin mumbles. 

nana scoffs, taking her bag. the two walked past the group and they all stared at the two twins. "you two going somewhere?" terushima asks in the middle of brushing his teeth.

"yep, we're going back to the mainland for the weekends," nana says, checking to see if she has everything in her bag. "don't blow this place up."

"ciao," rin says.

the twins got to the parking lot where their cars were parked. they got into rin's black audi r8 v10 and nana let out a small laugh when she shut the door. "la tua macchina è ancora la mia preferita."

rin smirks, turning on the engine. "geloso?"

"yes."

the drive from the island to the mainland was about an hour and a half. rin turned up the music, trying to keep both of their minds off. they were currently headed back home for an important family dinner.

usually, rin and nana like going back home but when it comes to extended family dinners, they would rather die than be sitting at that table with their aunts and uncles. but they can miss this one no matter what. since it's going to be the dinner where their parents are announcing their successors.

the four siblings found it quite unnecessary since they all knew who was taking over which company, but their parents insist on having a family dinner for this.

"what are you planning on wearing tonight?" rin asks his sister, turning his head towards her. "considering you're a fashion freak."

nana thought for a moment. "i don't know yet. should i wear a dress or a suit?"

"a suit? do you even own any?"

"i do," nana stared out the window and clicked her tongue. "i'll wear a dress."

"buona scelta."

"taci, rin."

rin laughs, "sorry."

nana grabbed her rose gold zippo lighter from her bag. she stared at it for a moment before opening and closing it repetitively. 

"how many years would i be in jail if i blew up the restaurant we're eating in tonight?" nana turned to her brother for an answer.

"like you would get caught."

"true."

the drive back home was quiet. they finally arrived at the nanashima estate. rin parked his car in front of the entrance and the two got out. as they entered the house, nana sighs, taking off her sunglasses. "i hope lorenzo and mimi are going to be there tonight."

"mhm, they're the only extended family i want to see."

the conversation was interrupted by a voice. "RIN! KAI!"

a three year old toddler ran up to the twins, smiling. rin picked up shiro and gave his nephew a kiss on the cheek. as they walked in deeper, they saw how most of their family was waiting for them.
