"It was him Peg"
"It was who?"
"It was B-Bucky, he killed them." You sob even more into her shoulder as she pulls a confused face.
"Shhh, it wasn't him and you know that. It was stressful and scary. I'm sure you just thought it was him, but we both know that's he's gone y/n and you can't blame yourself any more" she pulled back, still holding your hands in her own. "Now how about you get cleaned up and ready for sleep" she offered. You stand up silently before leaving to visit the medics and get changed.
You step into the chamber with silence, afraid to speak. You let the cold air take over and close your eyes, not knowing when you will next wake up.

"Welcome back agent y/l/n" a man spoke as you woke from cyro freeze once again.
"Your not Peggy, who are you?" You demanded, still weakened from the ice.
"I'm director Fury of SHIELD and we need you"
"What for? What happened to Peggy?"
"Agent Carter is fine but she retired, years ago. There is a man who you may know and he has been asleep for quite some time now. We think it would be best for you to tell him the news" he explained calmly.
"What year is it?"
"2011"
"Who is the man?"
"Captain Steve Rogers" you knees give out as you fall to the ground.
"Steve" you gasp. Regaining yourself and your strength, you stood up to face the new director of SHIELD. "Where is he?"
"All agents code thirteen" a voice sounded through the radio of Fury's car as he speed through the streets. You sat in the passenger seat wearing a back shield tee shirt and sweatpants.
"What's going on?" You demand, filled with nerves for your old friend.
"I repeat all agents, code thirteen!" You look to him but he remains silent, eyes focused on the road ahead. Suddenly the car comes to a halt and agents file out around you, guns pointed at the lost man in the middle of Times Square.
