You knock on the glass door and wait for the man to answer your call for help. After a moment the blinds are pulled up and Sam sees the hurt trio standing before him.
"Hey, man." He opens the door.
"I'm sorry about this. We need a place to lay low." Steve tells him.
"Everyone we know is trying to kill us." Natasha explains.
"Not everyone." He steps to the side, letting you in before looking both ways and closing the door along with the blinds.
"Thanks Sam" you nod, walking by.
"You okay?" Steve walks out of the bathroom wearing a white tank top as he notices you and Natasha both silently staring at the wall.
"Yeah." She nods.
"What's going on?" Steve pulls a seat in front of you both.
"When I first joined SHIELD, I thought I was going straight. But I guess I just traded in the KGB for HYDRA. I thought I knew whose lies I was telling, but...I guess I can't tell the difference anymore." She answered him. He turns to you to answer his question now.
"It's just a lot to process, I mean everything Peggy has worked to build was infected by the enemy the whole time while I was just waiting in a freezer. Not to mention that, that was also after I was trained to be an assassin and left them to build SHIELD on their own" you frowned.
"I owe you." Natasha steps in.
"It's okay."
"If it was the other way around, and it was down to me to save your life, and you be honest with me, would you trust me to do it?" She questions the super soldiers.
"I would now."
"Without a doubt" you finish.
"I made breakfast. If you guys eat that sort of thing." Sam steps into the room. Steve has an amused smile on his face as Sam leaves.
"Let's go get something to eat" Steve pats you knee as he stands up.
"So, the question is: who in SHIELD could launch a domestic missile strike?" You ask, sitting at Sam's kitchen table.
