"Party, party, party!" Lucas was practically bouncing as he walked over to me, Aaron and Jaime.
"What?" Jaime chuckled.
"I'm having a party this Saturday," Lucas told us, "My parents are out of town and Tino's throwing a party and you're all invited..."
"Tino's throwing the party?" Aaron repeated excited and turned to face Jaime, "Do you know what that means..?"
"Hot 20 year old girls!" Both Aaron and Jaime called out.
I rolled my eyes, of course that would be the first thing they think of.
"So are you guys coming?" Lucas asked us.
"Hell yeah!" Aaron said and high fived Jaime.
Me on the other hand, looked away nervously. I really wasn't made for parties...I'm so awkward it's ridiculous. I wouldn't be comfortable being around strangers.
"Erm..." I mumbled.
"Come on Alan...you have to go!" Lucas pouted, "Please...Austin's going."
My heart fluttered at the sound of his name. It had been a week since that day at the cemetery and everything was back to normal between me and Austin. We would talk every day and we even met up sometimes after school. My mom and dad had noticed that I was going out more considering I never went out before I met him. But I just told them that I was spending more time with Lucas. My mom was convinced that I had a girlfriend and no matter how much I denied it...she didn't believe me. She's going to be so crushed when I eventually do tell them I was gay...which would not be any time soon.
"Austin's going?" Jaime asked Lucas snapping me out of my trance.
"Yes...is that going to be a problem?" Lucas asked him in a sassy tone.
"No," Aaron replied, "No problem..."
At least they were being more mature about this situation and not letting Austin going put them off.
"Good..." Lucas smiled and turned to me, "So what do you say Alan?"
"I-I'll have to ask my parents..." I made up an excuse. I knew they would be cool with me going.
"Just lie and say that you're staying over at mine," Jaime shrugged.
There was no getting out of it. But Austin being there might make it feel better.
I looked at their excited faces and caved, "Okay...I'll go."

"You should go!" My dad encouraged.
"Really? You want me to go to a party?" I asked him in confusion.
"Of course!" He shrugged, "It's what teenagers do and...it'll be good for you."
There was really no getting out of it, "Okay..?"
"Aw honey, this is so exciting!" My mom came over and pinched my cheeks, "Your first party!"
"Mom!" I blushed and moved away from her grip.
"Now...do we need to talk about peer pressure?" She asked me deadly serious.
"What? No..." I laughed awkwardly.
"Okay, but be aware that just because everybody else is drinking...it doesn't mean you need to," She told me.
"I know," I nodded and went to walk away.
"Oh and just because other people are having sex, it doesn't mean-," She called after me.
