Later that night Peter found himself a department store, where Five had chosen for them to meet.

He arrived only moments before Five stalked through the door.

"Come on. She's this way." Peter was slightly confused but thought it was best not to ask. They walked through the store and into the women's clothing section where there were racks of clothes surrounding them like a maze in the dark store. Five seemed to walk on autopilot as he weaved through. At last, they stopped in front of a mannequin dressed in a polka-dotted dress and yellow sunhat.

Peter felt his heart fill with an odd feeling as he saw the look in Five's eyes. "Delores," the younger boy muttered softly to himself. He had forgotten about the outside world for a moment as he looked at his only source of comfort from the apocalypse. "It's good to see you. I've missed you. obviously. Well... it's been a rough couple of days." Peter looked between the two thoughtfully before his mind was made up.

"It's nice to finally meet you. I've been looking forward to meeting you. I can tell you guys are perfect for each other." Peter gauged Five's reaction and was surprised to see tears fill his eyes.

Their beautiful moment, however, was interrupted by gunfire. They both watched in horror as the impact of the bullet sent the lower half of the mannequin to the floor in pieces. "No!"

They took cover behind a rack of clothing as the bullets sprayed rapidly over their heads.

"Oh shit. It's them." Peter turned to look at Five with frustration.

"Young man, you better have a good explanation for this. Who are they, and why are they trying to kill us?" However, there was no time for an answer as the bullets reached the rack they were hiding behind. Peter followed closely behind Five as he scooped up the half of the mannequin that was still intact.

"I'll be right back for you." Five whispered endearingly as he left it to rest by one of the shelves but Peter wasn't looking to die tonight. He wasted no time in grabbing Five and dragging the boy behind him as he ran from the inclosing gunfire.

Peter caught a brief glimpse of the two shooters as they ran. They wore masks and Peter could faintly hear that they were talking but was too far to distinguish their words. Five portalled them behind a row of shelves and quickly grabbed a gardening trowel. Peter groaned.

"Is that seriously your plan?" Peter whispered with an eye roll.

"Don't have the time to try to come up with anything better. Besides, I've always wanted to die alongside my trust shovel." Peter let out a heavy sigh as he gripped Five's shoulder so he could make the next portal.

Before Peter could so much as blink, he and Five stood directly in front of one of the masked shooters. Peter couldn't even find the energy to flinch at this point when Five slit her throat with the small gardening utinsel. Then they were gone again. This time they were darting through the racks towards the door with Delores, which they had shoved in a bag, in tow. Peter and Five froze as the red dot shined directly on Peter's forehead. The moment of dread, however, was interrupted as the sound of a siren cut through the air and it took only moments for them to see the red and blue lights coming through the window. When the two assassins turned away for a moment Five and Peter had already portalled away.

Five placed his hand over Peter's mouth, signalling him to be quiet. Peter could still faintly hear the two shooters speaking from the other side of the checkout counter that Five had hidden them behind. Peter watched with concern as Five panted with sweat dripping down his face. He looked exhausted but his contentedness at the presence of Delores was obvious to anyone that looked upon them. He clutched the mannequin tightly as if afraid they would part once more, leaving him alone in a world of people who couldn't seem to understand his predicament.

This left Peter and Five to make the trek back to the Umbrella Academy. They both were exhausted and in pain. Peter sported a gunshot wound to the thigh and Five had a deep hole in his arm where he'd dug an object out (Peter suspected a tracking chip but was polite enough to not ask). When they finally arrived they were met with the sight of Luther and Allison at the top of the stairs in a heated conversation. 'Just great... another lover's quarrel,' Peter thought. The two looked at the both of them covered in blood with confusion.

"What the hell happened to you guys?"

"Are you ok? Can we help?" Peter could understand their sentiments seeing as they were covered in sweat and blood and Peter limped badly as he attempted to make his way to the top of the stairs. But Luther reached to touch Five's face and the younger boy lost it as he grabbed the elder's wrist in a tight grip.

"There's nothing you can do," the teenager seethed back at him with disdain. "There's nothing any of you can do." Five's voice had lost all its hope and his eyes grew dark. And there they were again. Right back where they started. Just two boys, a messed up family, a monkey butler, a  robotic mother, and the apocalypse. The moon was coming all too soon.
