Chapter 23: Fifth Floor - Wrath

As they continue up the stairs, the ground begins to rumble, "We should hurry!" Rosario yells, everyone starts to sprint and they soon reached the next floor. "Alright, I'll distract Wrath, just make a break for the stairs." Clarrise announces. As soon as they exit the stairway, Clarisse instantly initiates battle with Wrath who is waiting for them with a scythe. "Holy fuck!" Clarisse thinks to herself, "This is Matt's very best friend, I can't kill him, I can't let him see him also, what do I do!" Clarisse has an idea, she takes out a smoke bomb hoping it will make Matt unable to see his long lost friend. Wrath laughs, "That won't work!" Matt stops after hearing him speak, "Stephen? Is that you?" he begins to sob. He then makes a b-line (I thinks that's how it is) toward Stephen, "Stay away Matt!" Clarisse screams. Stephen gets ready to strike Matt, but he couldn't do it. Matt gets faster and faster until he reaches him, "I can't believe it's you!" Matt sobs and hugs Stephen. Clarisse gives him a confused look, "What? Isn't he mad?" "I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!! BUT YOU'RE ALIVE..... I'm so happy!" Matt cries out. "Wait? What are you talking about?" Clarisse asks

This is Matt friend Stephen, he wasn't always a part of the 'Deadly Seven' he actually was trying to convince Matt to leave, instead of putting him in the hospital, they just killed him. This was when Matt didn't listen to his friends when they told him to leave. "I don't know who you are! All I know is that you must die!" Stephen yells. Matt continues to sob, "Very well, looks like I have to knock some sense into you!" he leaps at him with his Naginata, "Fire Dragon!" he shoots out fire from his sword, and it forms a yellow dragon, "Yellow fire?" Taika says to herself. "It shows the happiness inside his heart, he's happy to know his friend is alive, even if he's a part of this." Rosario explains. "Do you think it would be like that for me if used my water?" she questions, Rosario puts his hand on his chin and ponders. Meanwhile, there is an explosion, it was Matt's dragon making contact with Stephen, "BE CAREFUL THERE IS A HUGE ASS HOLE IN GROUND NOW!" Stephen scolds Matt and karate chops is head lightly, "Sorry," Matt apologises. "You guys are way to destructive," someone says, "someone's gonna lose a body part," everyone looks at the hole, Hannah's, Ian's, and Zea's head pop up, "We're baaack!" they announce in unison.

Now with everyone reunited, there is only one thing standing between them and Gaia; Wrath! "I don't want to hurt you, but I have no choice!" Matt yells, as he prepares to strike again. While this is happening Taika explains to Ian, Hannah, and Zea what happened, "Are you fucking kidding me?" Hannah screams, "That's just fucked up!" Ian squeals, "Is there anything we could do?" Zea questions. "Sadly no," Clarisse mentions from across the room. "Connect to the Ira Archive!" Stephen initiates his attack form, and a powerful force surrounds him and he says "Activating Magus Mode!" After saying this, his outfit begins ti change, his long sleeve black shirt and black skinny jeans change in a mage robe. "Great, not this again," Matt complains, basically Magus Mode is when your magic power is greatly increased and you are able to use high level magic. "Taste the power of my 'Chaotic Rune'!" Stephen yells as he shoots a huge ball of water, fire, and electric magic at Matt. Before it hits, it splits off into eight shots and misses Matt completely, "Did he do that on purpose?" Clarisse thinks to herself, everyone avoids the shot and hide behind some columns. "Why did that happen?" Stephen says to himself. Stephen begins to scratch his head, and Matt takes this opportunity to strike. He uses his Naginata again, he uses it generate a temporary fire wall, and to stun Stephen so they could move on without hurting him. He gets to him and Stephen looks straight at him, not doing anything, not even attempting to dodge him. Naginata makes contact with Stephen and it knocks him out, "I'm sorry, I had to do it." Matt whispers and walks away. As he walks towards the group, he begins to cry again and walks to the stairs instead of going to his friends for comfort, "I will avenge you Stephen, I will defeat Gaia." He says to himself. "All we have left is Pride and Gaia, let's do this!" Zea yells, as they trail behind Matt, "You think he's still upset, or filled with rage?" Musubi questions, Rosario takes a quick look and says, "He's crying tears of joy, he now knows that he's alive, and will do whatever it takes to save him," They all walk up the stairs, and reach the final floor, and waiting for them is Pride, "Well, well, well, look what we got here, took you long enough!" Pride announces. No one replies, they just stand there, it's like a standoff.
