Chapter 24: The Final Floor - Pride

After an emotional encounter with Matt's long lost friend, Stephen, the.group is ready for the final member, Pride. "Took you long enough, Sloth!" Pride begins, "I'm even more surprised you've made it, you WERE the weakest one of us!" Matt and the rest of the group just stare at him, it's like a stand off. "Don't underestimate me, I've grown stronger and smarter," Matt says to Pride. "I can see, your core is bursting with energy," Pride replies giving a smug look. Pride has the power to see other people's cores, he can sometimes see what powers they have. "We are ready for you!" Musubi exclaims, "Confident are we now?" Pride inquires, he begins to walk forward toward the group and walks past them, "Gaia is waiting for you upstairs, she is inpatient, so I would hurry." Pride explains, everyone shocked, "Wait, what the hell? You aren't going to fight us?" Clarisse questions. "No, no I'm not, I'm not going to hurt my only friends and their friends as well," he winks, "also I can't get my hair messed up, it took me an hour to do!" Musubi and Matt look at each other, "Wait, we are your friends, I thought your hated all of us?" Musubi asks, Pride turns around, "At first, yes, I did. Now, I see you for who you are, that's all I needed to see, after I saw, I knew we were friends, even if I didn't accept it at first." He explains as Musubi begins to cry. "Oh my god, Pride! That's the nicest thing you've said to ANYONE!" "Please, call me Arata!" Pride, now known as Arata, asks. "Ok, you should get out of here though, not sure if Gaia is happy about this." Matt explains, Arata nods and walks away waving.

Ok, so you may be wondering, "What the hell just happened?" Well, I'm going to explain now and end off the chapter. Pride, aka Arata, was born into a family of alcoholics and drug addics. He was the only one who was clean and sober, and his parents didn't approve, so one day they roofied (I don't fucking know how you spell it) him, when he came to, he was in the middle of nowhere, his parents were nowhere to be seen, only tire tracks in the dirt. This is when Arata lost the ability to put his trust into another person's hands, he was wandering for a couple hours when he saw something, really big, it was Gaia, "Come my child, come with me, and you will get your revenge!" she claims. Arata decided to go with her, he wound up killing his family, and that's when the 'Deadly Seven' was formed. Arata didn't like any of the members who joined, except for two, Musubi and Matt. The honesty and concern for others in their cores were being clouded, he began to think what would it be like if their cores weren't clouded. That's been his goal, to get their core unclouded, and see them for who they are, that goal has been accomplished today. "My life is now complete!" Arata says to himself.
