Ryuko hadn't noticed that she had lost her friends, until she found herself in the park, dark and lonely.
"Why should I care about people who don't even exist where I'm from?!" Ryuko shouted as she sat on a bench.
"They took you in." The voice in her head said.
"So what? It won't matter when I get back home." Ryuko muttered.
"They are trying to help you."
"Yeah yeah. I can help myself. It's not like I'm powerless." Ryuko said, leaning back on the bench.
"Or are you?" There was a rustle from a nearby tree. Ryuko stood up, pulling her sword to a ready stance.
Another rustle. She tightened her muscles.
It was quiet, no one was in the park as the sun started to set, a perfect time for an attack.
A long black strand of string crawled through the bushes, it was small enough that Ryuko didn't notice it. The string made a path across the ground as it moved to Ryuko's foot. It crawled up the stocking on her legs and then made a reach to her skirt, so as to not let Ryuko see or feel it.
"Who's there!?" Ryuko shouted as the rustling continued.
The string crawled into her coat, between the coat and the shirt.
Ryuko bent down to grab a rock, to throw it into the bushes, even as she reached for the rock, two inches away from the black thread, she did not notice it.
When Ryuko threw the rock into the bushes the thread had reached her neck.
"Agh!" Ryuko cried out as a sharp sting went through her entire neck. She reached to the back of her neck, trying to find what had stung her. "Stupid bee!"
Maybe I should apologize to the others... Ryuko thought to herself.
"Ryuko!" Misaka yelled from the entrance of the park. "Where are you?"
Ryuko looked up from the ground to see Misaka walking toward her, with Satsuki in tow.
Ryuko saw the look on Satsuki's face, one of regret and honest relief. Misaka's expression was very similar. Ryuko burst into tears and ran into Misaka's arms.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry for what I said! All I have done is be rude to you and everyone here! I-"
"Ryuko. It's fine." Misaka said as she hugged Ryuko.
"Matoi. Stop making such a commotion." Satsuki chastised, with a loving tone in her voice. "You're my sister, after all."
