Days come and go, plans are finalised and people recruited. Jade and I work together seamlessly. But the biggest surprise was when Lupin, the Captains "man-servant" came to visit. And while his eyes were tired, his face was set as he told me that they would help. He couldn't blame me for asking why. After all, the memory of the night after is still fresh in my mind, my heart still sewing itself back together.

"Sometimes we have to remember that the right choice takes time to make." When I raised my eyebrows in disbelief, he gave in.

"I yelled at Alan for an hour after you left until he finally came to his senses. It was too dangerous to reach out until now." Apprehensive, but needing the help, I put them to good use. In a way, I'm glad he didn't come tell me straight away. Maybe that was the night that changed things with Jade and how could I complain about that?

That was the best thing was that suddenly, the plan was set in stone. But with that came waves and waves of nervousness.

So it doesn't surprise me when I find myself behind the Shack at un-goldly hours in the morning, trying to ease my mind. Nor does it surprise me when Jade appears, not ten minutes later. I don't know how she knows I'm awake but yet she does.

"This is the fifth night this week," she says, sitting behind me, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes.

"You don't have to come," I say weakly, tired and yet so damn awake.

"Of course I do." But I don't let it go. I'm too sleep-deprived, too stupid.

"But you don't. I'm not worth losing sleep over." Hot angry tears threaten to fall, balancing on my eyelashes. She wraps her arms around me and I bury my face into the crook of her neck.

"You are worth everything. And I will stay up every night for a week if you do. But I'm worried, you need to sleep." I take a deep breath, turning out of our embrace to rest against her shoulder. She traces patterns on my arm and I shiver slightly, momentarily distracted.

"You're scared aren't you," she says, not mocking just stating. Her breath tickles the back of my neck and goose bumps appear on my arms. But I just lean further into her.

"Maybe I am," I whisper, turning to towards her, faces barely inches apart. A wave of desire overtakes my fear and I lean forward, just slightly. Her response is immediate, her lips crashing into mine, finger gripping my hair. I entwine my arms around her neck, smiling softly through the kiss.

It's passion and sweetness and everything in between.

It's a rock in a storm, the sun, the moon, the stars. It was every smile, every laugh, every afternoon training and every adventure.

It's my whole world.

"You have no idea how long I've wanted to do that," she says softly, pressing our foreheads together, eyes brighter than I have ever seen them.

It feels like a beginning.

But the mission loomed still.

I just hope to anyone who will listen that it won't be the beginning of the end.

Eeeekkk it's my babies first kiss! How is this both so dramatic and cute at the same time?? But seriously I love them both with all my heart <33
