-Ida's POV-
Two weeks pass from that lake adventure and each day I train...and fall a little more for Jade. The first lesson is forever etched into my brain.
I arrived at the clearing that she showed me after my swim and started stretching. When she arrives, she shrugs off her work shirt, leaving only the singlet beneath, leaving me to admire her very muscled back. I drag my gaze away like it's stuck in honey, grabbing my sword that I left on the ground. As I turn around, I come face to face with Jade, her blade held in a cut directly at my throat. Holding down my yell, I swing my blade into a block, calling any and all lessons I've had. She quickly pulls back just to strike again. This time I really do yell, blocking again. My arms already are starting lose its strength and I know this has to end soon, most likely with me getting my ass handed to me on a silver platter. And I'm right. While I'm concentrating not getting stabbed, I don't notice the leg sweeping me off my feet until I hit the ground with an ungraceful thump. I automatically lose my grip on the sword and Jade catches it mid-air with her other hand before dropping them both safely on the grass behind us to help my wide-eyed self up.
"You're not that bad," she says with a grin, eyes a little feral and my answer gets caught in my throat.
I get pulled out of my thoughts as Jade arrives in the clearing, two weeks after that day and the sense of deja-vu overwhelms me. I climb to my feet as she retrieves her sword.
"I have a question..." I say, end of the sentence dying on my lips.
"What's up?" she responds and I grab her hand, pulling her to sit down cross legged in front of me. A little smile dances around her lips but I'm too nervous to smile as well.
"Well... uh... it's kinda this big thing... ummm what do you think of the Rebels?" I stammer and her face goes serious.
"I have nothing against them," she replies cautiously and I fiddle with my hands, twisting them this way and that. She reaches out, enclosing them in her own, her warmth flowing through me like liquid courage.
"I'm a Rebel." The words fall from my mouth, too late to take back. I look down but she lifts my chin up to catch her gaze.
"That's great darling." And I grin wildly for a moment before turning passive again.
"Also, I have this plan and I was wondering if you would want to help..." My throat closes up as I remember what happened last time I said this. "It's a big deal and I get it if you don't want to because it's your life on the line and..." I trail off as she grabs my hand and presses her lips the top of it. Red spreads across my cheeks and I smile again.
"I would be honoured."
Another scene... the butterflies are real! I hope you have or had a wonderful day <3
