**TW: blood**
A few hours later
Natalie's POV:
I walk into the storage room, to find Maggie checking the meds in there. "Are we running out of supplies?" I ask, glad to have a little break from all the patients. She looks up frightened, clearly she was deep into her thoughts. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you" I say with a guilty giggle. She sighs, "no, it's fine, just busy you know? Who am I kidding, of course you know" she says with a pitiful tone, "how are you feeling? You still good to go?" she asks. "Oh yeah I'm fine, luckily most of my patients were small cases, nothing too tricky" I say. She nods, already back to checking the meds, so I walk back to the counter.
I realise that Crockett has been upstairs for ages, and since we didn't have that much big cases, I'm assuming he's not in surgery. I'm wondering where else he could be, because we need him down here. I look around the ED, and since it's pretty quiet (I know, I know, that's a cursed word, but I'm thinking it anyways), I decide to go upstairs to check on him.
An added bonus is that I will most likely get a hug (because I definitely want one) and maybe even kiss, since everybody now knows about us. At least, almost everybody.
I walk to the elevator, and press the button. Nothing happens, and I realise how stupid that just looked. A doctor, fully aware that there is an almost city-wide power outage, and what do I do, I press the elevator button. I roll my eyes in embarrassment, and frustration at the same time, and go to the stairs.
Crockett's POV:
I check my phone again, desperately hoping for anything like a message or so, but I just notice that a couple of hours have passed, and Will and I are still stuck in here. My nose stopped bleeding quite some time ago, but now I just have dried up blood all over my hands and lips. Will and I haven't talked since our short conversation after he punched me. I sigh, "it's been a few hours, should we try-" but he sushes me. I look at him offended, until I hear what he hears. In the distance, if you listen closely, you can hear footsteps coming closer and closer.
I startle when Will starts banging on the elevator doors desperately, shouting that he's in here. For some reason, I feel offended that he so desperately wants to get out of here, even though it is very understandable. I mean who wants to spend hours in an elevator with the exact person you wouldn't want to see for the love of God.
Natalie's POV:
I walk up the stairs, to my surprise already quite out of breath, and thankfully I have a reason to stop. I hear someone pounding on some door, yelling for help, so I run up the stairs, trying to reach nearest floor as quickly as possible and yell back "I'm coming, stay there, I'm coming to you" with no clue in what situation this person is. For all I know they could be hurt.
Crockett's POV:
To our luck, somebody heard Will's aggressive banging, and yelled back something like "stay there", and one that sunk in, I realise that that's Natalie's voice. I quickly stand up and look at my hands, and then at Will, who looks at me shocked too. I realise that there is no way to clean up the mess, so we'll have to face the consequences, I think to myself.
Natalie's POV:
I open the door to the floor, which is just pretty much all storage. I hear the door closing behind me and put my hands on my knees to catch my breath. I feel myself getting somewhat dizzy, and I almost lose my balance, but I blink a couple of times and keep walking to the elevator. I notice the closed doors, and try to open at least one of them, but it's not working. I realise I have to get someone, preferably a firefighter. "Ok, this isn't working, I have to go get someone, I'll be back soon, hang tight" I say, as I take a deep breath and walk back down the stairs.
Once downstairs, I can't find Maggie, but I luckily see April, so I run over to her. "Hey" I say, still catching my breath "do you happen to know if there are any firefighters at the hospital right now? I just heard someone stuck in the elevator in between floors, but I can't seem to open the doors". She looks at me a little worried "Ok, ok, catch your breath first" she says calming and rubs my shoulder "and yeah, I think I just saw Kelly and Stella walking by. Why don't I get them, you stay here, and then we'll go and get that person out of the elevator" she says, and I nod.
Stella opens the door and lets us all enter the floor. I quickly walk over to the elevator doors "Hey, are you still in there?" I ask. "Yeah, I'm still in here" the person says. "Will?" I ask and look at April surprised. Kelly asks me step aside, and both he and Stella manage to open the elevator doors.
We help out Will, and I notice Crockett behind him, with blood all over his hands. Once both of them are out of the elevator, I look at both of them. They look like two children who just took candy they weren't supposed to. I notice Will's hand, and then look at Crockett's nose.
Crockett's POV:
In this moment I'm not sure what to say, so I just sort of stare at my hands, glad that I'm out the elevator. I look up, and see Kidd looking at us suspiciously. Then my view shifts to Natalie. She has a frown on her face, growing bigger every minute. I see that she's looking at Will's hand, and I take a step forward to try and hold her back, but I'm too late.
In a split second, Natalie slaps Will in his face, without hesitation. Everybody's face turns to shock, but Natalie just raises and eyebrow and keeps looking at Will "Really?" she asks angrily. Will tries to say something, but is still in too much shock from the sudden action. "Uh, alright, looks like it's sorted out here, so we're gonna go" Kelly says a little hesitant, and pulls Stella with him. "Yeah, I have to go back to the ED too" April says, not taking her eyes off of the scene, as she walks towards the door.
Natalie, Will and I stay behind in silence.
