Will's POV:

Once Maggie's left the room, Mrs. Goodwin turns to me. "I'm so sorry this happened Dr. Halstead, we all know how much you care for her, and we're all here for you if you need anything" she says, holding her documents a little tighter.

"Thank you, I appreciate that, but I just want to find out what happened, why it happened. I've already called my brother, he said he's going to start an investigation, and they'll be here later to ask some questions" I say and nod steadfast. "That's fine by me" Mrs. Goodwin starts, "but please refrain from overwhelming any of the people questioned. The situation is tense enough already." she says, which makes me slightly frustrated. I mean, I'm just trying to get justice for Nat, whatever it takes. I nod hesitantly, and Mrs. Goodwin leaves the room.

About an hour later

Thankfully, Natalie survived the surgery. I step out the room and run into Maggie, who was just about to join me again. "Hey, so?" she asks with a seriously worried face. I nod "she made it" I say, and Maggie lets out a deep breath. Both of us being so happy, I pull her into a hug, and let her shed all her tears of stress. I feel my phone vibrating, and expect that to be Jay. I let go of Maggie, and ask "Oh and Crockett? Is he-?", she cuts me off, "He's alright too, they actually just extubated him, but gave him some more medication so he'll fall asleep instead of worrying himself sick about Nat" and she gives me a smile I hadn't seen all day. "Great" I exhale relieved. "Alright, I gotta get back, can't have my ED up in flames, besides they'll all want an update" she says, squeezes my hand and walks off.

I stay behind with a light smile, and finally check my phone. "Hailey and I will be there in about 20 min" Jay texts me. As I think about Maggie's first description of the accident when Natalie and Crockett were brought in, I feel myself get filled with anger, and start walking towards the ICU.

Since his eyes are closed, I walk up to a nurse, "Hey, is he awake? I need to talk to the patient" I say and point at Crockett. The nurse looks up "Uh yeah, I think so, I just went in and he seemed conscious", "Alright thanks" I say and enter Crockett's room.

"Hey you up?" I ask him firmly. He slowly opens his eyes, letting out a deep breath, "Yeah, I'm- I'm up" he looks at me. "Good" I say, and take a step closer to him. His eyes all of a sudden shoot open, "Nat, what, is Natalie-" I cut him off. "She's fine, no thanks to you, still intubated though, but managed to survive the surgery". He sighs and lowers his head, but it shoots right back up "the- the baby?". I look at him, see him getting desperate "the baby's fine".

"God, can I- can I see her- can I see them-" he tries, frantically looking around, almost trying to get up. "No, not yet. They're not cleared for visits yet. Now tell me what really happened huh?"

Crockett's expression changes. "I'm- im sorry?" he asks offended and completely confused. "Is that so hard to understand? Your brain shaken up too much? Is it the alcohol?".

His jaw practically drops as I ask him that "the alcohol, what are talking about Will?" he asks. "Look, its obvious it wasn't just an accident, so tell me, before the police arrive, what actually happened huh?" I take another step closer to him, "do you even realise what you did? You could've killed her" I practically whisper, standing so close to him, "you wanna have that on your conscience, huh?" I raise my voice, "I really don't see what Natalie sees in you" I say and turn around, about to completely lose control of myself. Tears jump into his eyes and he stutters "I-I know, I wish I could've seen it, I- I wish I could've turned back time- I-", "oh please, spare me that bullshit! You could've killed your unborn child, Crockett, get that in your head!" I yell through the room. His watery eyes now turn into full on crying, and he doesn't try to hide it. I take a step closer to him yet again, and bend over slightly, so that our faces are separated by just a couple of centimeters "Look, Crockett, it's easy. Either you tell Nat and the police what actually happened, or I will, and the consequences will be way, way worse." I say and storm off.

Jay's POV:

Hailey and I walk into a very with sadness filled ED, and walk up to the counter. "Maggie, could you tell us where to find Will? He contacted me, we have to go question some people about the accident" I say, and she leads us upstairs.

Hailey and I thank Maggie after she's brought us up to the ICU and showns us which room it is. As we approach Crockett's room, we see one nurse standing behind the counter, and Hailey immediately speeds up her pace. I follow in her path, and we see Crockett lying there, with his eyes closed. I turn to the nurse "Is everything alright? We were told we could see him, that he would be awake?" I say, and the nurse avoids eye contact. He sighs "Uh, yeah, he's awake, you should be able to go in". I look at him confused, and he proceeds "I don't know what happened, I saw doctor Halstead storming off, not sure why. When I asked doctor Marcel about it, he brushed it off, saying nothing happened." I nod and turn around to see what Hailey thinks, but she's already inside the room. I quickly thank the nurse and go inside as well, closing the door behind me.

Hailey's POV:

It seems that Jay didn't notice, but if I'm not mistaken, it looks like Crockett just cried. I haven't recieved any bad news about Natalie yet, rather good news actually, so I wonder why he's crying. Jay goes to ask a nurse, but I hurry inside, slowing down once I approach his bed. He slightly turns his head away from me, seemingly trying to hide his red eyes. I carefully put my hand on his shoulder, and he startles. "Detective Upton, I was already expecting you" he says in such a tone, that it is clear it is fake. I hear Jay come into the room, and thankfully, he closes the door.
